Newsom’s support of men competing in women’s sports will be used against him to great effect when he tries to run for POTUS in 2028.
This doesn’t go over well in “fly-over” country - or most of the rest of the country for that matter.
That and Newsom is a hypocrite as he has said publicly that men competing in women’s sports is “unfair.”
What has always puzzled me is the mindset of the surgeons that will perform this horrid act.
With few exceptions, the federal gov’t, not states, are under constitutional restrictions.
Although medical child abuse is heinous, I see nothing in the Constitution that restricts healthcare and medical decisions by the states and the people of the states. States are considered local governance and it is up to the people of each state to see that the state is governed according to their will.
The main constitutional restriction on the states is they must be a representative republic (US Const., Art. IV, Sec. 4). Otherwise, with few other restrictions, the states and the people of the states are free to do what they want.
As bad as medical child abuse is, worse is giving the feds even more unconstitutional power than they already have. The unconstitutional feds are the greatest source of abuse and death, not the states.
President Trump isn’t trying to restrict this form of child abuse, he’s just refusing to pay for it with Fed money ... state’s are still free to fund it themselves if they think it’s so important ... for that matter, the docs and hospitals that do it can do it pro bono [ha ha] ...

LBJ’s Federal takeover of Medicaid is the problem. Medicaid is the largest item in every state’s budget. States must spend state money to get federal money. If States don’t spend, they leave money on the table.
Follow the money to see where and how the decisions are made.
They probably got a judge all picked out at random to rule in their favor.
This isn't about rights. It's about powers. The Federal government has no Constitutional power to govern medical practice within a State. The State of California does. That sucks in California, but that's how it is legally.
