There is something of a crime epidemic in London. I state this in conditional terms because many of the offences are what can be called “low level” crimes which do not generally involve personal injury, grave damage to property or danger to life.
But that is not to say that they are not serious in their effect: on the contrary, they are perceived as signs of a breakdown of civil authority which risks undermining the public’s confidence in justice and stable government. When little crimes are permitted to proliferate unchecked, it is actually much more generally demoralising than the occasional spectacular unique event.
As has been widely noted, it is precisely the brazenness of these offences which gives them their subversive power. Rampant shoplifting, phone theft in full view on the streets, and the snatching of expensive watches in public places may not be in the same league on the judicial spectrum as armed robbery, knife attacks or murder but their proliferation produces a sense of social degeneration and chaos that is more demoralising than isolated major crimes which most people assume they are never likely to experience. The immediate damage that these brazen offences cause in terms of lost property or vandalism can be remedied by insurance or compensation – which is the rationale used by the police and the legal system for not bothering to prosecute them – but there is something bigger at stake here.

The key to the success of the Broken Windows policy was its support within the justice system and the political leaders. No such commitment is evident either in London now or in New York city now. The fish has rotted from the head down.

Zero tolerance for the subjects, migrants get a pass.
As I am seeing it from the heartland of America, zero-tolerance policing in the U.K. would lead to massive arrests of people sharing memes that cause distress to what the U.K. refers to as ‘asylum seekers’.
Don’t like them being housed in your neighborhood? Off to gaol you go! Your demonstrating makes them afraid to hang out by your daughter’s school? Banned from the area for 28 days.
I remember when Roger Miller was on some TV show back then and was asked why he did not use proper English in that verse. His reply was that if he did that the verse would go

It got a great laugh.

When I worked part time at a record department we had six albums playing over the sound system to attract buyers. Miller’s hits was one I heard-—and heard-—and heard. But also Frank Sinatra’s A Man and His Music.
Tolerance? Tolerance of the criminal is TREASON to the victim. The breakdown of civilization continues daily in Britain. One of primary functions of government is to protect the citizens living under that government.
They do have zero tolerance for white people.
