Al Fashir is being suffocated to death.
The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has held the capital of North Darfur hostage in a 14-month siege - blocking food or fuel from entering the locality and forcing starvation on its 900,000 inhabitants
The entire city is currently a militarised zone as Sudan's army and the Darfur Joint Protection Force fend off the RSF from capturing the last state capital in the Darfur region not currently under their control.
Rare footage sent to Sky News from inside al Fashir town shows streets emptied of cars and people.
The city's remaining residents are hiding from daytime shelling inside their homes, and volunteers move through town on donkey carts distributing the little food they can find.
Journalist Muammer Ibrahim sent Sky News voice notes from there.
"The situation is monstrous," he says. "It is truly monstrous.
"The markets are emptied of food and partially destroyed by shelling. Civilians were killed at the market, just a day ago. People have fled market areas but there is also shelling in residential areas. Every day, you hear of 10 or 12 civilians killed in attacks."

What’s wrong with animal food?
For the most part processed animal food is healthier than human food.
Stay and fight it out over there. We have enough Sudanese in Ohio.
Why does this remind me of the opening scenes of Blackhawk Down?
I used to think organizations such as United Way, Peace Corps,
The United Nations, Red Cross were primarily in existence to help the needy in 3rd world countries.
Maybe they are not allowed access in order to provide assistance. Well, can’t some First World diplomats work something out? We collectively have an overabundance of foods available, most of the time, even before harvest seasons.
What a shame to have it sit on a pier rotting, while invaders use the Stalin Technique of removing the opposition by starving them out. That does not mean, I expect the USA to use boots on the ground tactics in order to get assistance to those who require it. No. That is how one country gets dragged into another endless war.
A real siege with starvation people ignore. These same people are obsessed with the fake starvation in Gaza.
When was the last time a city that large was besieged?
Yes there are convoys of aid but they can’t get in to that particular city. Bleak.
I’m having a hard time getting a handle on how to characterize the two sides in this civil war. As far as I can tell, the Arab-Africans (RSF) are committing genocide against the Black-Africans (SAF). I believe that both sides are Muslim, Sudan appears to be 90% Muslim. I think it’s an ethnic war and not a religious war. But I could be wrong about all of this.
Seems somewhat appropriate... After all... They are a bunch of animals.
Even if it is a clash of brother-against-brother, it is still considered a jihad.
It’s a civil war, yes. Each side has their own backers.
The RSF though seem to be raping and pillaging...
Muslim and Black ghetto fatigue.
I Don’t care anymore.
It probably indicates that all of the animals have already met their fate. Also, most animal feed is for “primary consumers”. People are “secondary consumers”. We can’t digest grass, but can animals which eat grass.

Why is Sudan’s Genocidal Regime a CIA Favorite?
DANGEROUS LIAISONS
"Remember the campaign to stop genocide in Darfur? "That's never been a big priority for Langley, while counterterrorism cooperation with Khartoum is a huge one."
We don’t need another Sally Struthers war.
