Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh defended his recent meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House when a reporter confronted the coach about it on Wednesday.
Harbaugh and several family members — including his brother, Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh — were invited to the White House earlier this month.
During his media availability at Ravens training camp on Wednesday, a reporter framed a question on the visit around Trump's previous comments criticizing Baltimore as a city.
The Ravens coach criticized the reporter for the framing of the question and insisted that he "roots" for the president.
"How you framed that question — I would have framed that question like: ‘You got a chance to go visit with the president, man. What was that experience like?’" Harbaugh said. "It was amazing. It was awesome. And I promise you I root for our president. I want our president to be successful just like I want my quarterback to be successful, and I want my team to be successful, and it was an amazing experience. It's not often you get invited, and you get a chance to do something like that as a family."

Typical J-School moron.
The reporter sounds like the type that still wears a covid mask.
So clearly it's not like Harbaugh is adamantly for visiting Trump every chance he gets, nor is he against it.
What?!The Ravens haven’t won the Super Bowl in a dozen years? Somehow they have stolen credit for winning the most recent Super Bowl?
A snarky speech framed as a question.
That reporter should be fired for TDS bias. Why should anyone believe a word he says?
There are few reporters, what we have is an over abundance of leftist activist TDS Trump haters in the media business.
But had Harbaugh visited the White House when Biden or Obama were in office, this same reporter would have puddled the floor in excitement while asking how amazing the visit was.
Hopefully he’s fully vaccinated and boosted.
Couple of well known football coaches go visit the President.
They show him the respect due him by accepting his invitation.
What has that got to do with taking credit for a Super Bowl?
Yep.
Politics could learn from sports.
The loser congratulates the winner. The unsportsmanlike conduct of a player is called out... but does not diminish recognition of the winner.
Charles Barkley was commentary on the game. The refs obviously made a mistake that cost his beloved Auburn Tigers the game. Barkley accurately reported the mistake of the refs.
Barkley held his emotions in check and said his Tigers lost.
That has been the American way for 250 years.
We try to improve the skill of both the players and the refs. We fiddle with the rules. We often feel that “We got robbed”. But life goes on...imperfect life.
I think I have just become a Ravens fan.
He was interviewing with NFL teams after they won....He wasn’t back in AA for very many days after the national championship game.....good try though.
That reporter totally doing his job. The media is there to shape the narrative and push any dissent back down.
Problem is that they are not being heeded like before. They are being called out and humiliated a lot now. Hopefully soon their rein will be ended.
