In some massive news for those wanting to see fraudsters held accountable for their awful crimes against the public, the Department of Justice and FBI announced that it had arrested nearly 6 dozen fraudsters in the deep blue state of Minnesota over a scheme in which they stole $250 million from a program meant to feed hungry children.
As background, the $250 million fraud scheme targeted a children’s nutrition program that was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and called “Feeding our Future.” It was meant to reimburse the costs of feeding children during the pandemic, so as to keep kids well fed as schools closed and general upheaval reigned.
While the program was well-intentioned, it was targeted by fraudsters in Minnesota who sensed an opportunity to pilfer hundreds of millions of dollars from federal taxpayers, thus near-literally taking food out of the mouths of hungry children by scamming the program that was meant to feed them in a time of great need.
In the scheme, the 70 conspirators falsely claimed to have served meals to hungry children during the pandemic, and requested reimbursement from the federal government for having done so. In reality, however, they pocketed the money and spent it on lavish mansions, luxury cars, expensive clothing, and like objects.
Fox News Digital, adding more details on what happened, noted that the collection of alleged conspirators did everything from fabricating invoices to submitting fake attendance records to pretend it had delivered thousands of meals to hungry children through hundreds of food distribution sites across the state.
They temporarily got away with that because the USDA had waived, for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the typical requirements for participating in the Federal Child Nutrition Program. So, they were able to pretend that 300 food sites in the state were delivering meals, whereas in reality, they served little to no food, and the supposed vendors laundered money.
Now, those involved in the scheme that pretended to deliver food while really just stealing and laundering money are being held to account for their awful crimes. Of the 70 alleged conspirators indicted for the horrid crime, 38 have so far pleaded guilty and another dozen of them are, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, awaiting criminal trials that will begin in August and hold to account those who refuse to admit their guilt.
In a statement on the matter that was posted to X and delivered to Fox News Digital, FBI Director Kash Patel noted that this was utterly shameless and awful behavior, saying, “Stealing over $250 million from hungry kids during a pandemic to fund mansions and luxury cars is as shameless as it gets.”
Continuing, he went on to add that the FBI will hold such people accountable, regardless of how long it takes and difficult it is to dismantle the web of corruption. He said, “I’m proud of the FBI and our partners for dismantling this web of corruption, holding dozens accountable, and sending a clear message: if you exploit the most vulnerable, we will find you and bring you to justice.”

Yes...Somalis, mostly.
Hope they take a real close look at them, they are Somalis who may have lied on their immigration papers and citizenship, too.
While these people are vile criminals, they did not steal from children, hungry or otherwise.
These people stole from tax payers.
This is one reason that I do not believe that the government should be in the business of providing charity.
Charity should be as local as possible so that the community can keep an eye on where the money goes and how it is spent.
Keeping it local also has the advantage of the recipient of charity will have a focus of their gratitude.
The anonymity of government charity is a big problem.
When money for your daily bread comes from out of nowhere it loses meaning. It comes to be expected particularly when just keeps coming week after week.
When a safety net becomes a hammock we have serious problems.
When a man doesn't work for his daily bread he ceases to be a man and becomes a leach.
End whatever program these Somali savages used to get into our country.
Then deport every last one of them.
L
They claim to have much experience with Somalis in Somalia.
They should be sent back.
Another example of why government should not do charity.
In somalia (and now Minnesota) theft is a way of life.
If its theft from Government, even better
If its theft from infidel, stupid white people - that’s best of all.
The first convictions of this Feeding Our Future scam happened one year ago.
There’s another Minnesota scam underway now over the Housing Stabilization Services program, maybe $100 million.
Where is the video of these scumbags perpwalking down the street in handcuffs and leg irons?!?
Most of these feel good, *for the children* “charities” and many other non-profits, are nothing more than money laundering operations.
I refuse to give to anything to any organizations except Teen Challenge, Samaritan’s Purse, and our local church.
There’s accountability and so far, it’s being used for what it’s meant for.
The minute we hear otherwise, and verify it, that stops.
Now go after the Clintonistas that stole millions from the Haiti relief fund.
I’d encourage everyone to listen to Matt Walsh’s show yesterday, segment in which he accurately characterized as Minneapolis having fallen to the control of Somalis, this scam being but one example of implantation of Somali culture and governance here
Goes back to 2022. Dozens of people pled guilty or found guilty. Prison sentences trickling in.

Tim Walz for sure will be happy with this.
Where were state officials and indictments on state charges? …wait this is the Peoples Republic of Minnesota …move along comrades nothing to see here.
Agree 100%.
You wrote “ Keeping it local also has the advantage of the recipient of charity will have a focus of their gratitude.”
The other side of the coin is shame. Not long ago, people who accepted charity were ashamed of doing so. Anonymous handouts from Big Gov eliminated the shame.
Looks like all Somali names there.
Perpetrated by human offal
Rookies when compared to Hamas.
“Call me when someone/anyone actually goes to jail.”
Numerous people have already gone to jail over this scheme. Trials were held over the past year or so and those people were found guilty. In addition several people pleaded guilty prior to trial. Unless Patel is talking about more arrests, this case has been going on for two years now..
