This is a definitive argument to NEVER let Democrats vote!
This is solid proof that many will keep believing a lie rather than admit they were deliberately misled by others.
This negates the assumption the press will create informed consent among the governed.
It’s disturbing that 45% of moderates also believe Trump colluded with Russia to cheat Hillary out of the White House. Only a plurality, 49%, recognize it as a hoax.
My 101-yo Father in Law believes it. He only gets PBS, ABCNBCCBS CNN MSNBC and some international channel that is anti Trump.
I got to see this in the “helmets in the NHL” debate many years ago. Even though it was so obvious that after a few years of legally phasing in the buckets (through grandfathering), the sticks and elbows were up big time and the cheap shot artists emboldened far more than ever before, the media would constantly wheel out the do gooder doctors and such others demanding more head and facial protection while lecturing about how stupid Don Cherry and others were for pointing out the aforementioned reality of what was in fact happening in the game (now many former players battling with concussion problems).
A hard sell because NONE of the at least arguable rationales for joining in a war apply here — a Pearl Harbor-like attack; fighting the military expansion of communism (Korea, Vietnam); stopping an aggressor trying to control the world’s oil supply or acquire nuclear weapons (Iraq, Iran); attacks on our ships (Houthis).
My cousin lives in Aspen. Her immediate response to the Mueller report was “it doesn’t mean that he is not guilty.”
It was never disowned by its perpetrators.
Sorry — replied to the wrong article.
Stands to reason as they are all retarded liars.
And even when they don't really believe, pretending is a loyalty test.
The most shocking part of the results was that 27% of CONSERVATIVES still believe in the Russia hoax.
That suggests that one-fourth of “conservatives” are never-Trumpers.
It also suggests that at least some members of Free Republic still believe in the Russia hoax.
Ill bet a large chunk of them, if not most of them simply KNOW the Russian collusion thing is/was a hoax, but goes on pretending they believe it to be true.
“This is true of my two sisters. I can’t have any kind of discussion about politics with them because they believe the media’s lies and won’t even bother to check out the facts.”
That describes my brother. To hear him tell it, Trump and the Republicans are to blame for literally EVERYTHING.
One time i was driving him home from the hospital and he started complaining about the lackluster care he got there and started blaming the Senate Republicans. When pointed out to him that the Republicans were the minority in the Senate (at the time), his response was, “well, they’re still responsible.”
Remember the covid relief checks? There was a delay in them getting distributed and brother blamed the delay on Trump because he claimed that Trump wanted to individually sign each and every check. Logically, Trump, or anyone else, doesnt have the time or stamina to individually sign 70 million checks. I asked him where he heard that and he said, “its all over the news!”
I was half tempted to bet him $500 he couldnt sign his name one million times over the weekend.
My brother used to be a huge fan and admirer of Trump. Bought and read his books, spoke very approvingly of Trump, his upbringing and career, etc. It was only when Trump entered the presidential race as a republican, did brother do a 180 and began to hate trump unconditionally. Im pretty sure if Trump ran for President as a democrat, brother would have remained loyal and faithful to Trump.
When you get all your news from Drudge and the Huffington Post, the bubble never pops.
