But if we want the win to persist, (1) break up the teacher's unions at the state and local level; and (2) provide teachers with a multitude of alternative 'unions', including Christian teacher 'unions', conservative teacher 'unions' -- and have the legislation in place in red states to recognize each and every competing union. Co-opt the marxist paradigm and neutralize the thread, while smashing the marxists into a million pieces.

The reason they left the lower court to continue was to give the case a chance to mature. After they have piled up a couple hundred reams of paper on each side, they can make a ruling that will have precedence.
Given the composition of SCOTUS at the moment, it is likely that the administration will prevail.

I really do not think that promise will be kept.
The Department of Education will survive Trump. They are actively making moves that are counter to the kinds of moves you would expect with an entity you want to kick to the curb.
