Taxpayers will no longer fund illegal aliens’ education

Taxpayers will no longer pay for the education of noncitizens in the U.S. illegally, the U.S. Department of Education said Thursday.

The department said “it will end taxpayer subsidization of illegal aliens in career, technical, and adult education programs.”

A news release said that this change takes place due to an interpretative rule issued Thursday in which “the Department rescinded a Dear Colleague letter from the Clinton Administration that enabled non-qualified illegal aliens to access federal public benefits in contravention of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA).”

Title IV of PRWORA “generally limits eligibility for ‘federal public benefits’ to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and certain categories of ‘qualified aliens,’” the release said.

Federal public benefits include “any retirement, welfare, health, disability, public or assisted housing, postsecondary education, food assistance, unemployment benefits, or any similar benefits for which payments or assistance are provided to an individual, household, or family eligibility unit.”

Taxpayers should fund anything for the left’s illegal alien voter base. The RATs should have to pick up the tab for their invader pals. U.S. Taxpayers pay taxes for Americans not the scum of the Earth run out of their own countries by the people THEY elected. America now has two NYCs and one LA full of the other countries sewage and garbage. They dumped it on America and Jo Pedo licked it up.

RATS should be required to pay REPARATIONS, too. That would finish them off, once & for all.

We know that's what you meant.

Why should citizens pay out of state tuition, while illegals, the ultimate out of state, NOT?!

I recall a law that says everyone is entitled to an education through 12th grade. I’ll look it up.

Free welfare, health, disability, public or assisted housing, postsecondary education, food assistance, unemployment benefits and most of the bastards get paid in cash and nothing goes into the system to help it.

The parasites get away with it for a lifetime socialism on the march comrades.

I think that applied to minors in grades 1-12. It certainly should not apply to anything after that. But I don’t see why we would admit a child illegally in the US. Just contact ICE, have them arrest the parent/s, & remove the family.

They should be arresting employers of illegals, too. We have laws requiring they verify legal status prior to employing anyone. Why are our laws not being enforced?

A good way to goose self-deportation. Dry up the bennies and people will leave. Now we need to start to strictly enforce E-Verify with stiff penalties for employers who cheat, and it will move things along even quicker.

So Americans have been paying for this some 30 years already. How many hundreds of billions? Thanks Clinton. I didn’t even get a thank you note.

When Pete Wilson was governor a proposition(87?) was passed doing the same thing. Bill Bennett and Jack Kemp were vocal against it. Pete told them to mind their east coast business. California then went blue.

Perhaps times have changed as we’re seeing the results. Could be that people only notice when the problem is staring them in the face. Everyone’s got a plan until they get hit in the mouth.

Aside from the obvious massive cost savings, this will also really help American students learn better.

Our schools are getting crushed by illiterate, non English speaking children of illegal aliens overwhelming the system and killing educational opportunities for American kids.

Why do they got to pass new laws to make it illegal to do stuff that was already illegal?

One of the fun ways to cut through the media disinformation on topics like illegal immigration is to look at secondary sources where the reporting is a bit candid.

The media reporting on the number of illegal aliens in the country seems to adhere to the media's style sheet phony number of 11 million illegals in the US.

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2016/11/17/children-of-unauthorized-immigrants-represent-rising-share-of-k-12-students/

However , this reasonably unbiased and very accurate Pew Research article sates that , as of 2014 ( and the numbers have grown astronomically since 2014) -

“About 3.9 million kindergarten through 12th-grade students in U.S. public and private schools in 2014 – or 7.3% of the total – were children of unauthorized immigrants”

So I guess that out of those 11 million unauthorized immigrants the media is talking about, 3.9 million are their children enrolled in our K-12 school system.

These numbers simply do not jibe.

For there to be 3.9 children of illegal aliens enrolled in our K-12 schools there has to be a LOT more “unauthorized immigrants” in the country than 11 million.

It's safe to say that the percentage of children of “unauthorized immigrants” in K-12 is much higher now than the national average of 7.3 % back in 2014 and is more like about 15% these days.

A more recent article puts the number of documented and undocumented alien students in our public schools has grown to 11 million (23% 0f the school k-12 population) as of 2021 - before the huge Biden invasion of 12 million illegals hit the country so the number is probably more like 30-35% these days.

https://freedomined.org/news-room/newcomers-in-the-classroom-how-immigration-is-reshaping-k-12-schools/

We spend just under 1 trillion dollars a year so we are spending in the range of 200 - 300 billion dollars a year to send the illiterate, non English speaking children of undocumented migrants to K-12 schools where they do not learn much of anything but greatly disrupt and drain resources from the education of American students

I’m sorry...In my heart...these children should be allowed to go to school. It’s in the best interest for both of us.

It's kind of ironic how the media keeps using it's 11 million illegal aliens residing in the US when actual Dept of Education stats document that there 11+ million children of undocumented alien parents alone being educated in our K-12 school systems

Back calculating the number of illegal aliens living in the country based on how the demographics of how many of their children are enrolled in our schools gives a pretty staggering number.

Seriously, if every one of the 11 million foreign born children enrolled in our K-12 school systems have two parents that immediately accounts for 33 million and it's safe to say that the majority of illegal aliens in the US are not married with children.

This also does not account for the number of anchor babies with US birth right citizenship enrolled in our K-12 system.

The true stats produced by government bureaucrats desperately looking for funding to feed our failing educational system are just crazy .
