One of Donald Trump’s popular campaign promises was to work on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, so we could see how many people still in power were clients of the infamous child trafficker. In a new mystifying message, Trump not only supported his attorney general in not releasing the files; he bashed his own base.
Voters love Trump for defying the Deep State, for promising to drain the swamp, for vowing to track down criminals — especially child abusers. He was elected on promises of enforcing the law against criminals. Now Attorney General Pam Bondi is claiming that the Epstein files are just a myth, even though she had previously claimed they were sitting on her desk (apparently Epstein’s guilty plea to child prostitution and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell’s 20-year prison sentence for conspiring with him to abuse minors were accidents). The truly shocking part is that Trump is backing Bondi. We saw this sort of debacle play out with Richard Nixon. Trump should not make the same mistake.
Furious MAGA voters expected Trump to ask Bondi to resign, or at least to rebuke her and remind her of his campaign promise—one that many voters were enthused about—because child exploitation by elites is a topic that riles most Americans, especially since many of the victims and elites in this case are still alive. Instead of reading the room, figuratively speaking, and sitting Bondi down for a talk, Trump posted a message on Truth Social that contradicts his former comments and has already garnered backlash, with both X and Truth Social exploding as Trump voters decried the message.

You lumped ALL MAGA people as one solid group. Ergo...that's the same as saying ALL of us want this investigated, which is not true.
It is a waste of time, money, and effort to deep dive into this and for WHAT purpose?
We don't even know if the list includes the names of those working FOR Epstein, nor WHAT they were required to do/not to do. Some may be married, living quiet lives, others may be dead, the names may be phonies, and I'm sure that they don't now want to be dragged into this mess.
With ALL of the fixes that Trump has begun to accomplish, the upheavals in this world, and you want ALL of THAT to just stop on a dime, in order to concentrate on this ancient story? WHY?
Even IF it was done, the guilty would NOT be punished since the act/s did NOT happen on American soil, if we;re talking about Epstein's Island! WE HAVE NO JURISDICTION THERE!
I missed that one. That would be a good shiny object to get people off the Epstein story.
But YES...those here yearning to have this thrown wide open have EVERYTHING to do with what I posted! You're all HOWLING for a bloody expose, ignoring the cost, the time, the exposure to those who worked for Epstein ( none of them who has ever come out, except for Virginia ) and the destruction of Trump, MAGA, and the future. FOR WHAT REASON? None of them will get prison, or any other thing you want them to get. Not to mention the FACT that is we're talking about what happened on Epstein's Island....WE HAVE NO JURISDICTION over that......NONE!

Just to keep the record clear - Epstein’s NY residence had almost every room covered with audio and video recording, and trunkfuls of labeled videotapes and DVDs were recovered from that location.
What was recovered from New Mexico, Paris, and Palm Beach is not known by me.

Trump isn’t pushing for accountability and doesn’t appear to have any interest in it, contrary to what he said in his campaign. Patel and Bondi may just be reading their boss, but I agree that neither seems to have the stomach for doing it.

President Trump is hard to read.
I think it would make a difference if we had a FBI Director and Attorney General who were determined to go after big fish as their top priority.
If they had cases ready to go then they would still need President Trump’s approval to indict—but my guess is he would be fine with it.

Not sure about that. It appears Trump is really trying to get rid of the situation. And I agree with him. There is no way they are going to get anyone under oath to say anything about anyone. The whole place is in the stew and they won’t last 10 minutes if they say they will talk. And those that did not partake of the sexual circus are implied just because they went there for the beer.

You do realize Epstein Island is under Virgin Islands jurisdiction which means it is under the jurisdiction of the DOJ?

You should try posting on a rabidly leftist forum for a decade. This is “nothing” compared to the .... “”barbs”” (nice word for it) you receive then. Silver lining is... you eventually get used to and immune to such rhetoric. After a while, nothing posters say bothers you. End result is... I only worry about people’s opinion that I know and respect these days. Well, that and the forum gods’ opinion...lol.
