WASHINGTON, DC—July 10, 2025—The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced a significant policy shift to restore compliance with federal law and ensure that taxpayer-funded program benefits intended for the American people are not diverted to subsidize illegal aliens.
HHS has formally rescinded a 1998 interpretation of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA), issued during the Clinton Administration, which improperly extended certain federal public benefits to illegal aliens.
For over two decades, the 1998 policy improperly narrowed the scope of PRWORA, undercutting the law by allowing illegal aliens to access programs Congress intended only for the American people. With this update, HHS is complying with the law—ensuring that federal benefits are administered with transparency, legal integrity, and fairness to the American people...

Has a judge blocked it yet?
“ public resources are no longer used to incentivize illegal immigration.”
I hope we start hearing this expression over and over again.

How do they plan to enforce it?
Once the benefits and jobs dry up, the illegal issue will VAPORIZE all on its own.
ICE gets the attention, so does the border.
But these are the types of decisions that actually fix the problem long term.
Trump is no joke. The man delivers.
Bobby slow or absent at best on some stuff, moving ahead in other areas—and this is one of those other areas.
If they have to go home it’s really going to screw things up for the midterms.
Hopefully this ends the foreign interloper hobos from riding on the federal gravy train finally!
Somewhere, there is a gay, Biden hired, “Dipstick judge” waiting for his phone to ring.
We can hope it sticks and discourages.
Some Bush judges aren’t adverse to helping the left out either.
Good
I’d never before read about that law and a >20-year-old incompetent and negligent - if not outright illegal - interpretation.
I would like to see an audit to account for how much $$ was thrown away/wasted due to that so- called ‘interpretation’ …
Lawsuit in 3 … 2 … 1 …
If we could get 1 million to deport with a chance only 10,000 could return, I’d take those numbers
They better enforce it.
And no more free homes, subsidized mortgages, free cars or free home improvements either-there’s a program where they get a new free roof, siding and windows too.
