They destroyed their country and now are damn near useless.
They can enjoy their domnt caliphate status.
Not all Asian countries will copy the successful Singapore example. Philippines & Thailand are the most corrupt governments. Largest democracy on earth, India, has made huge advances in prosperity after defeat of Nehru’s Congress party who was big on Soviet style central planning. Modi’s janata party privatized government run industries and that has benefited the prosperity equation.
A country has to end corruption decisively as El Salvador and Argentina have and Singapore had.. I. Order to institute a good society.
Well, a peerage is, afaik, the highest award you can get for service to Britain. You will be called Lord or Lady, and you get the right to sit in the House of Lords.
Somewhat lower is the knighthood, which will make you Sir or Dame (first name, last name). But you will be considered „ennobled“ 🙂
The Order of the British Empire has five ranks, but only the first and second of these, the Knight Grand Cross and Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire come with a knighthood.
This gentleman, as an Officer of said order, holds only the fourth rank.
Must admit that I have an appreciation for these venerable old titles, which are as ancient as the hills.
Simple method to eliminate corruption is make government smaller. All big government countries have corruption.
Hard to do that until one elimates the bloat. And the profiteers.
