MsB If youve got wood, you’ll stay cozy and be able to cook!
Wish we had a wood stove.
I have your area as a favorite in my Weather Underground site. Also for Judy, Spunky, Cotton, Luvie, Jemian. Can quickly see what’s happening and predicted
You’re the winner for dastardly cold! Jemian for normally warmest but Luvie clise second
Puppies and kittens so sweet. Ive had 4 fogs. All rescues. Three under a year and the last Lucy the begal a very old gal. Ive had lotsvof kittens .. my bred persians as well as street rescues
Current new kitten was not a baby but 7 months and such a joy. Playful, gentle, affectionate. A animal shelter adoption.
Wish i had an Audrey!
I’m on my sixth Rescue Dawg right now.
I seem to specialize in “difficult” breeds. LOL.
But I love ‘em.
Dolly’s Christmas. A holiday saga
(I had texted to Cotton yesterday)
What you plan. The reality. Miles apart often.
My plans for quiet evening and very early sleep Christmas day changed
Jeff gets up at 3:30 PM (was up til 6AM) and says we need to get ready to go to Shannons(his ex)
I said WHAT?!?!?
I’m already in nightgown and have electric blanket warming my bed. Bad allergies resulted in little sleep past two nights
He said - you told me about it a few days ago and I said - I did not. ( But to be sure…I looked through messages and there was no message from her at all - yet an invite for Christmas)
I checked as early stages with dementia include forgetting significant events. So it is apparently Jeff who got it wrong. This kind of scenario typifies post alcoholism we were told last year.
His daughter worked ER as RN 12 hours but came after her shift
Chances are his daughter told him - he remembered it being me
So here we were. At Shannons. I basically camped on living room sofa as too tired to go up and down steps to family room where festivities, games and gift exchange took place.
Embarrassingly We had gifts for no-one. Jeff and i received many. Shannon brought up many for me and put on floor next to me.
Gorgeous food spread upstairs however (and spiked punch) while watching the Lions and Vikings. I dozed off several times
Having bad allergies past few days. That increases the fatigue and headache and purely anti- social mentality.
But Jeff got to spend time with his daughter and family and several dozen others… family and close friends so bottom line I’m glad we went although i was uncomfortable (miserable)the entire time
Now what did you all do?
Judy you haven’t had yours yet… weather? Did you start checking out the desserts you and audrey made?😊
Aside. My moms twin was Audrey. My favorite Aunt who died in mid 40s.. alcoholic
Id love to have another dog. My first three were big dogs. 2 GS & one Golden
You’ve had 6!! Outstanding! Each one is different and fun to grow with
Audreys are of amazing value! That kid will tackle anything.
The only thing is (and I learned the hard way) she will tell you she knows how to do something when she thinks she does, but you really have to watch lol.
This Christmas I can honestly say that she made the apple pie, the pecan pie, the strawberry cheesecake and the peach cobbler, but I made sure of the correct ingredients and gave instruction. So I’m basically an old, gray, knitting, talking recipe lol.
The one drawback is that she’s the messiest cook in the world lol. I clean up as I cook or bake.....she leaves multiple bowls, every spoon in the house, measuring cups, ingredients, spills.....everywhere. She’s not a particularly meticulous cleaner upper, but while I’m doing the washing up, she will vacuum and mop the floor.
Now, as for Cold Weather champs, I think we can compete with Ms.B here in Ontario! My windows have been iced over for 3 days. It’s treacherous out there. The trees are all solid ice and the wind is terrible. So cold. Actually, we probably have much the same weather as Maine.
Hopefully our Christmas dinner is tomorrow, but at this point in time, I don’t even care that much lol. Everyone has their gifts (I don’t shop....it’s just envelopes) so it’s all good. Apparently Natalie is going to have the world’s largest charcuterie. She was over today telling me of the many new things she has made with Audrey today. I’m going to try and get a pic and a list of what it all is. Sounds interesting!
Glad Jeff got out for the visit, even though trying circumstances for you. I’ll bet it meant a lot to him.

Yikes!
Another hum-dinger storm coming through tomorrow! Ice, freezing rain, high winds, snow, hazardous travel. Lol we may be celebrating orthodox Christmas in January!
Hey Dolly!
*HUG*
Dastardly cold..my description of it was slightly
more\*ahem* colorful!
Okay kids!
Ready for more?
Snow-sleet-ice, or a “mixed bag” of winter weather

“Another hum-dinger storm coming through tomorrow! Ice, freezing rain, high winds, snow, hazardous travel.”
*Heaving HUGE sigh*
Yeah, I know!
SO precious!!
Makes me miss my rescue kittens!! (Who are all adults now)
No Christmas yet? The weather must be awful, I know you guys are used to traveling in snow.
There would be a piece missing out of every pie and cheesecake and cobbler if they were in my house!
Hazardous travel, so stay put by that marvelous wood stove!
I think it’ll be 68 here tomorrow. Crazy! The next day 19. I do like the variety in our winters but this has been extreme.
Tippy is beautiful!
And you’re an artist also??? As well as musician! You wear many hats
Christmas in January? Works. Sorta Orthodox/Russian Christmas
Have you frozen pies?
Who all is involved? Natalir the hostess & family, son n family, you. Anyone else?
Yesterday was pretty here also. I wish i had spent more time outside but i was on a roll with a jewelry project. Was outside maybe 15 minutes. Spent probably 7 hrs at my little work table in kitchen.
We had classic pierogi yesterday and today pizza on flatbread. As its cooler today will maybe make a batch of brownies.
I do several salads every week. Sometimes get a container of wildgreens; sometimes a bag of the specialty salad kits. This week working with the romain hearts that come 3 to a bag. i get two salads out of each head. Still using the green tomatoes that are ripening.. each salad different depending what i add and the dressings
I rarely use the oven. My Cusinart Toaster oven/air fryer is large and accommodates easily our meals. That and my crickpot two most used appliances
I went to Art School, and thought it was my life’s ambition. But then...I started writing songs on my guitar.
We never know what paths we will take. 😁
