I’m guessing a light attendance might be partially due to there being “No Kings” marches from coast to coast, and some Trump supporters preferred not to become a part of that uncertainty.
I haven’t actually heard much of anything, pro or con about the Army parade, so your take on it is valuable.
And of course Dems were told to stay home.
It was the Military History of the Army...with boots on the ground....reminded me of when I was a child...we loved our parades. And I took my children every Year. Now every Town in the State has one at least once a year. I'm 80
We watched it on Newsmax. The two commentators Carl Digby (maybe) and somebody else, sounded like a couple of SpecOps bro’s sprawled in front of a TV. “Yeah, you were in Eye Rack too, right? Did you get to fly in one of those?” Humorous, but not particularly professional.

I was there. It was very well attended, in spite of the threatened thunderstorm and constant drizzle much of the day. And unlike a typical Trump rally, this one required almost half a day to go through various security points, find your place, and last through the entire event. Driving to it was impossible, and even if you took the Metro, you had to walk many long blocks to get to the main viewing area. It was a glorious, once-in-a-lifetime event. So glad I pushed through old-age, arthritis and standing for hours to see it.
