‘We live in response to a monarchy’: Judge appears critical of deployment of National Guard in L.A.

A federal judge in San Francisco expressed skepticism at a hearing Thursday that President Trump had the authority to federalize the National Guard, questioning whether he had followed the law before ordering an extraordinary deployment to Los Angeles over the weekend.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer, presiding over the case, pushed back against the Justice Department’s central argument, that courts had no say in the matter.

“We’re talking about the president is exercising his authority, and of course, the president is limited in his authority,” Breyer said. “That’s the difference between the president and King George.”

“We live in response to a monarchy,” the judge continued, adding: “Line drawing is important, because it establishes a system of process.”

In the lengthy hearing, Breyer directed most of his questioning to the Trump administration, which has cited Title 10 of the U.S. Code to justify the takeover of the National Guard. But that provision, the judge noted, requires that orders from the president “shall be issued through the governors of the States.”

“I’m trying to figure out how something is ‘through’ somebody, if in fact you didn’t send it to him,” Breyer asked. “As long as he gets a copy of it at some point, it’s going through?”

Trump was arguing for illegals working for hotels (such as the Trump family properties) or farms. He made the bizarre argument that beloved illegals employed for 20 years are getting deported—and are being replaced by violent gang members.

We’ve got the highest polling in support of mass deportations, with clear majorities, and Trump is arguing to undo it.

Calling Trump a monarch or king is the left’s new narrative and it’s strictly more symbolism. They want to compare Trump to King George III and themselves as the Patriots in the American Revolution fighting for this country’s freedom. Nice try libs, but it is they who have always wanted a dictatorial and controlling federal government.

“Activists make very bad judges”

Activists make horrible employees and even bad “friends.” They’re focused on something that is outside their job or their friendship and that makes them intolerable. Imagine a gay activist working at, say, Oreily’s Auto Parts. There was an employee at one I dealt with whose sex was not easily determined he/she drove away the couple of actual women who worked there. An activist brings unacceptable politics to wherever they are.

Riots, looting, arson, blocking traffic... none of that is “assembly” or “peaceful protest.”

Let me guess. Breyer will make a ruling tomorrow. He will order Trump to withdraw the NG from L.A.

The trap is in place.

John Roberts is not going to help out. Maybe July.

Judge Leftie ignores the constitutional power of POTUS as CIC. If POTUS is CIC, then how can Congress require him to act through a governor who shirked his duty already?

Well, the Trump administration insists on giving the Federal judges a dagger to stab them with.

There will never be an end to Federal judges denying Trump the permission he seeks. He should never ask permission from Federal judges.

I suppose he will have to start sending in the U. S. military.

And if he submits to a Federal judge denying him that, the country is over.

What you have is a rat Judge steering the proceedings to make the case for the decision he had made before any testimony. The outcome was obvious as soon as he said his first sentence. So will Trump capitulate and let antifa and Soros have their way?
