Iranian TV Alleges Massive Spy Operation Targeting Israeli Nuclear Sites

Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB, has reported what it describes as one of the "largest intelligence operations" in history against Israel, claiming Iranian intelligence obtained a vast cache of "sensitive documents" -- including thousands allegedly related to Israeli nuclear projects and facilities -- from inside Israeli territory.

IRIB’s rolling news channel, IRINN, interrupted regular programming on June 7 to announce the story. It said the operation involved extracting an “abundance of strategic and sensitive information and documents” from within Israel, citing unnamed “regional sources.”

According to the report, the documents were transferred to Iran after a period of secrecy intended to ensure their safe arrival. IRIB said the volume of material is so great that merely reviewing it will take considerable time.

The broadcaster also linked the recent arrests of two Israeli citizens -- Roy Mizrahi and Almog Atias -- to the alleged intelligence breach. Israeli authorities announced their arrests last month, accusing them of collaborating with Iran. The Iranian report suggests the arrests may have come after the documents had already been smuggled out.

While the arrests of Mizrahi and Atias are confirmed and appear consistent with a broader pattern of Iranian intelligence recruitment inside Israel, there is no independent evidence to support IRIB’s claim of a massive exfiltration of nuclear-related documents. Israeli authorities have not acknowledged any such breach, and international media or independent analysts have released no corroborating details.

Mizrahi and Atias, who have no prior criminal records, attended the same high school. They were arrested in late April, on the eve of Independence Day, on suspicion of harming national security. According to investigators, they had intended to place cameras facing the access road to Katz’s home but fled the scene upon spotting a Shin Bet security patrol. Defense officials believe the surveillance was part of a larger plan to assassinate the defense minister.

In conversations with associates, Atias described the aborted attempt near Katz’s residence, claiming they left without planting the equipment after he noticed the security vehicles. “On the evening of Mimouna, Roy asked me to come with him because he doesn’t have a driver’s license and I do,” Atias reportedly said. “He introduced himself as part of a group called ‘The New World Order’ and said there was a car worth 12 million shekels ($3.4 million), with a chassis supposedly made of gold, that needed to be fitted with cameras in Kfar Ahim.”

The Arab anti-Israeli press likes to play this game: Take a story about Israel, and twist it beyond all recognition in an anti-Israel, anti-Jewish conspiracy.
This is how when the Israeli government reported after 9/11 concerns for Israelis in New York, the Syrian press reported Israelis and Jews were told to stay home on 9/11.

The Israel press says two were arrested on charges of spying for Iran and trying to get information on Israel's defense minister.
The Iranian press twists this to say Iran succeeded in getting Israeli nuclear secrets.

Iranian most certainly failed in getting Israeli nuclear documents, which was not their goal, from a pair of amateurs.
They did burn two of their small time agents and reveal their recruitment methods by talking about it.

Whether true or not, there are obvious actions going on right now, what with Pres. Trump’s notifications to the military, diplomats, and their families in the Middle East today. I think it’s to avoid hostages, but it might be preparations for an armed conflict.
