WTF is “the spread of verbal violence?”
Dang. Commies gonna commie. Sorry to the comedian.
The US must crack down hard on such censorship with Russian level sanctions.
If it were up to me I’d give this guy asylum. Not that I condone jokes like that but freedom of speech SHOULD be absolute when it doesn’t incite violence. Even in a 3rd world shithole like Brazil.
Good God, they’re only jokes.
Every group has its good and bad people.
Euroweekly news or Euroweeny news?
It sounds like he did the old Dice-Clay routine.
You have to read half the article before you find out where it is, and not by chance. You could have known where it was in the first sentece with the inclusion of “Brazilian” in front of “court” but that would be too easy. It’s intentional to keep you reading and seeing ads
Par for the course....
I guess Rio isn’t a place where Americans should want to spend their tourist dollars anymore.
> The court found that performances such as Lins’s contribute to “the spread of verbal violence in society and promote intolerance.” <
The UK’s Starmer and Germany’s Merz will probably learn something from this. And not in a good way.
“Every group has its good and bad people.”

Totally subjective ruling.
Freedom of expression does mean people can be told things they don’t like hearing. That is the core of freedom of speech. In certin cases such as slander, libel, and endangering people by ex. causing a false panic, the law has specific ways of dealing with these abuses.
Hurting peoples wittle feewings is not an abuse of free speech. Whether telling it in a humorous way, or straightforward.
