EXCLUSIVE: GOP Gubernatorial Candidate In Consequential 2025 Race Rolls Out New Ad
Daily Caller ^ | May 28, 2025 | Adam Pack

Republican Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears’ gubernatorial campaign rolled out a new ad Wednesday morning, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

The release of the ad, titled, “Always,” is the second video the Earle-Sears campaign has put out highlighting the lieutenant governor’s background, including her service in the Marines, working class roots and status as a first-generation American. The Earle-Sears campaign is putting $1 million behind the 30-second video, which spotlights her work with Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin to lower taxes and improve education. ...

“I’m no typical politician,” Earle-Sears says in the ad. “I’m a first generation American, joined the Marines, graduated college as a working mom, raised a family, became a grandma, 1st woman elected lieutenant governor.”

Youngkin, who is barred from running for a second consecutive term due to Virginia state law, endorsed Earle-Sears’ candidacy in November. The race ... is one of the most-watched contests of 2025 and is likely to be seen as an early indicator of the two parties’ performances in the 2026 midterms.

My friends it’s called click bait. Intended to draw you in. Once it happens you have to close 3-4 windows to get to the article.

Not worth it. Not even the first line.

LOL, yes, some Freepers talk about their length of time here as something to be noted, as part of the weight their comments should carry with the rest of us.

To be fair Daily Caller is also guilty here. They should know better since they are a national rag and their readers would also like to know which state they are talking about.

I swear some of these families gotta be payin' lots of bucks to somebody to come up with the names they end up with.

I have a few more things to say about “first-generation American”. Years ago it meant something. Today nore than likely it just means you were an anchor baby.

So where do her parents come from?

Also does she not understand she will not be eligible to run for President if her parents were not naturalized American citizens at the time of her birth?

You KNOW that’s what she’s pushing for.

Yeah Republican. The Marine Corps thing has got to be fixed.

Remember the Fort Hood maniac? Mr. Middle East patriot joined the U.S. military then took out half his company in a hail of gunfire.

These people never give up...

When I lived in Va Beach, I voted for her and she unseated long-time Va House delegate Billy Robinson. I couldn't stand that guy. Typical "family dynasty" 'Rat. One of his best friends, a former local judge, pistol-whipped him.

While I think Earle-Sears would be a great governor, she has an uphill climb. The 'Rats are already running non-stop ads, and of course the media makes it sound like she has no chance while citing their fake polls.

Current Virginia GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin is not allowed to run for two consecutive terms.

I have not seen approval polls for Youngkin, but my sense is he could be reelected, but has to wait four years.

Youngkin is center-right politically, and he was a very timid Trump supporter during his 2021 Governor campaign.

In 2021, Youngkin beat former Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe by almost 2%.

My sense is that Youngkin would prefer to run for President in 2028.

The Black female GOP Lieutenant Governor has a compelling personal life story, but I am skeptical she can beat a strong Democrat candidate in Virginia.

In the south, it was one party elections, so without the term limitation incumbents could get reelected forever.

And to be fair, in addition to the appropriate state tagged in the Topics list, when I make an OP like this, I do try to add the state in parentheses.

I resemble that remark.

No mea culpa from me. Put [VA] in the headline so I know whether to click or not. If I have to click before I know what the article is about the author and editor failed in their duty to compose a proper headline.
