All major mobile networks went down in Spain on Tuesday, just four weeks after the country was hit by a national power outage.
Movistar, Orange, Vodafone, Digimobil and O2 were all reported to have been affected by outages hitting professional services, including health centres.
Complaints soared as landline, internet and emergency contact services were knocked offline early this morning.
Madrid, Andalucía, Galicia, the Basque Country, Aragon, Navarra, Extremadura and the Valencian Community were all reportedly affected.
Networks contracted with Telefónica appeared to have been hit, but outages did not appear to be affecting individuals' network access.
The company told MailOnline shortly after 12.30pm local time (10.30 GMT) the issue has now been resolved, after 'network upgrade work' affected 'some companies' fixed communication services'.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
“Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth”
Mike Tyson.
I guess they hooked up a windmill to each cell tower to get them going again.
Still grasping onto their first-world status, but barely...
Or China was testing out how deeply embedded their products were in the cellular infrastructure.
Sounds more like someone is conducting tests, and they picked Spain as the guinea pig. Welcome to the new terrorism. Got walkie talkie, ham radio?
Speaking as a boomer, this would be a very minor inconvenience for me. I rarely look at my phone. The only downside IMO, is there enough hard-lined phones left to make calls?
What's the need to sugarcoat it? OF COURSE this and the rolling blackouts are harbingers of things to come.
The one thing I've not heard addressed - yet - is attention to our grid, what ought be a national emergency on par with the border.
It needs to happen, in conjunction with Congress, and fast.
Better Headline:
God heaps blessing upon spain, for no good reason
So much from central bank controlled digital currency.
Can’t operate a digital currency system without access to the Internet and computers...
Got both GMRS walkie talkies and Ham Radio along with a portable ham radio setup with 20m-80m band range capabilities, I have my General Ham radio license
I also have a pretty nice scanner that picks up all the trunked and digital modes of transmission, even though all police and sheriff frequencies are encrypted in my area, the fire departments are still open, and you can monitor those.
China is using these to show us what they can do if they don’t get their way. We’ve let them data mine us for decades and all of our electronics down to the dog chew toys have some hidden door, secret transmitter, spyware built in. They played the long game while we were watching sport center.
It’s kind of like putting a whole country in Airplane Mode.
Distinct possibility.
No, no, no, not just “Mike Tyson”, it’s a quote from a famous modern philosopher, Mike Tyson!
When was the last time you saw a hard-wired telephone and how many hours do you have to drive to make an emergency phone call?
So superior.
I believe the bad guys are conducting tests all over the world, not just Spain. What is the probability that two ships would collide with a major bridge going into a city within a year - Baltimore and New York.
This was probably some IT Communications technician who thought he could slam home a Change to production with no one noticing.
