Democrats nothing more than contrarians to Trump
American Thinker ^ | Eric Utter

Posted on 05/19/2025 3:16:47 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

In an amusing twist, many Democrats have come out against President Trump’s plan to cut prescription drug prices, raising the distinct possibility that there is nothing [...] Trump could propose that they would approve.

...

I firmly believe if Trump came out fervently against painful rectal itch, Lyme Disease, and the repeated clubbing of baby seals over the head with a large mallet, Democrats would immediately and zealously defend these things...

...

This reminds me of an early Saturday Night Live skit in which the host of an A.M. radio program couldn’t get any listeners to call in with the bland topic being municipal bonds. The host eventually got so frustrated with the lack of interest that he kept ramping up the scenario until he finally proclaimed that he himself was for municipal bonds being used to finance “the forced busing of Communists into your homes to kill your puppies!” No calls. No response. Apathy.

Why do I mention this? Because I honestly believe Trump could come out against using municipal bonds to pay for “the forced busing of Communists into your homes to kill your puppies” and the next day Democrats would say, “Whoa, not so fast! It’s just like a Fascist to say something like this!”

...

So when Trump says something simple like, “God bless America,” we are no longer surprised when Democrats reply, “There is no God, and America is a racist, misogynist, land of bigoted Fascists.”

What would be Democrats’ response if Trump were to repeatedly and vehemently state his hatred of Adolf Hitler? Would they be “forced” to pivot and start giving the Führer some love?

What if Trump similarly stated his unconditional love for Democrats? Would Democrats trash themselves up one side and down another?

That would be fun to see.

There is a condition that children sometimes have that is similar to how the Democrats are behaving toward Trump.

Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

While ODD isn't usually diagnosed in adults, its traits can persist into adulthood, characterized by:

In adults, these behaviors may be reclassified under different diagnoses, such as: So while ODD isn’t technically an adult diagnosis, its patterns do show up in certain adults, for example, mothers-in-law, ex-wives, and Democrats.;-)

“Not just Dems...”

Thank you, that is a fact. TDS in Congress is a pandemic and has infected all. They talk the talk but they will throw us under the bus just the same due to their hate for Trump. Just because they have an “R” doesn’t mean they care one bit about those who elected them. Their loyalties are with the globalists just the same. They both work for the same masters.

Similar variants of Trump’s drug price control ideas had been proposed by Dems for a long time.
I, personally, have some reservations about it.
I just do not like any price controls.
But, yes, it is funny, that, suddenly, when proposed by Trump, Dems are against it.

Trump’s drug price “controls” aren’t really controls—they’re more like a tariff on big pharma. Drug companies cave to price demands in Europe, then overcharge U.S. programs like Medicare and Medicaid to make up the difference.

Trump’s policy not only targets those programs but also aims to extend fair pricing across the broader U.S. market. He’s essentially telling pharma: stop subsidizing the world on America’s back—or at least don’t expect to recover those losses here.

“I just do not like any price controls.”

No, same here. But addressing very real fraud and price fixing coming from the industry is very much warranted. It is a crime to price fix a supply universally. And they are, When an Iron supplement (vitamin) is priced at $170.00 as a prescription but can be bought over the counter for $17.00 that is price fixing to the highest degree. No wonder insurance will not cover these kind of prescriptions and make you pay out of pocket for them. And the doctors are right in bed with these scams because they own stock or they are getting kickbacks for prescribing them.

The industry is rigged and something needs to be done. I would love to see the industry brought up on criminal fraud charges before regulating prices...

Totally agree but the GOPe/uniparty/RINO club is significantly more damaging than a bunch of dems yelping over something insignificant as they get wealthy stealing from taxpayers and haven’t done anything in two generations to stop it. $37 trillion in debt and adding in some $5 trillion in a couple years is a perfect example.

Being "contrarians" is just a tactic.

The Democrats are a three tiered outfit.

1 - The people with real power are a crime syndicate.
2 - The activists are the terrorists.
3 - The party faithful are a death worshipping cult.

What these septic tank dwelling DemonRATS have done to America since the People’s President took office in January makes the RAT Operation JaySix look like a cake walk.

change the words cuts with safeguards and Medicaid lies will go away. safeguard your medicaid from spilling out its funding to cheaters, foreign nationals, crooks and thieves.

Oh. then we’d find out that most of the Democrats are cheaters, foreign nationals, crooks and thieves.

Its fine to be a contrarian when your party controls nothing. But don’t be totally incompetent at it.

True. President Trump also has a legitimate axe to grind because the pharmaceutical companies raked in billions from the Plandemic "vaccines" while their white-coated flunkies kept the wool pulled over his eyes. They abused his trust and used him so...
