The Pope is not suppose to “govern.” He is suppose to lead his flock to Jesus and God.
I was thinking the same thing. Govern? Whats that mean?
I, too, hope he’s right.
I want them to release proof of aliens.
“He’s he’s a big believer in canon law,”
- that implies he is aware of and accepts that there are “gravely disordered acts” that should be prevented, much less tolerated and even promoted - like his predecessor. Its about caring about such affected people, not merely judging them.
Sheperd is govern, administration is what a bishop does. Yes there are other hats they wear its just one of the important parts of being the good steward of the masters house.
This, from the Oxford English Dictionary:
a.c1300–transitive. To oversee or have responsibility for (a person, esp. a child); to be the guardian or patron of; to keep safe, protect.
Does that help?
Louis Prevost: the ecclesiastical Billy Carter we didn’t know we needed.
It means run the Church. Which is almost two billion strong.
Popes don’t “govern.”
Real Popes lead by example.
I hope he is wrong because continuing down the path Bergolio set does not appear to coincide with adherence to canon laws.
When Pope Leo called for “no more loud show-downs,” it’s a reach to think he’s referring to Pres. Trump and not the situation within the Catholic Church.
As Pope,he should condemn the sins and exhort the sinners to repent .
The correct term would be “rule.” Yes, ultimately he is supposed to lead his flock to Jesus, but we cannot ignore the fact that he does this in significant amount by appointing Bishops, establishing liturgical norms, identifying heresies, etc. Still, I do agree if you mean to merely point out, “he who governs least governs best.”
Not really. A pastor is supposed to care for (tend) his flock, which I see a little different than to ‘govern’. But maybe its semantics. Tending the flock means leading with God’s will and word, which is not necessarily ‘centrist’.
My experience with people who are “in the middle” is that they’ll go along with whatever the television or their phone says is a moderate position. Little in the way of principles, as what is the middle shifts further to the left.
But didn’t he vigorously refuse the investigation of likely pedophiles?
As a Catholic. Who has a family and knows how much family influence other family members’ politics and religion, I would just like to say— I don’t care anything about the politics or even Catholicism brother of the pope
