I would suspect for many who live rural, they are already armed. What plays against them is being too complacent thinking they’re removed from such gang activity.

One of the lessons I garnered in reading about the collapse on a South American nation was ...while it was bad in the city, it was worse in the countryside. In the countryside they came in as marauders of groups, not singles. This tactic overwhelmed lone homestead. By the time the community responded it was too late.

One of the reasons I have opted to stay suburban. No place is going to be truly ‘safe’ from these vicious gangs. Tactically having a suburban community you may have the support of the local police and your neighbors. All of my close are armed. Most have dogs to alert. The drawback is the judiciary system, but we have the castle doctrine state law.

I agree, never met a farmer running around with a lot of cash. Steal his equipment; no worries, it's insured and leased. I wish you good luck selling it. Dogs, guns, and testicular fortitude tend to be the hallmark of most farmers and ranchers. Small town folks tend to know each other and recognize strangers easily. I could see where Hispanic folks relocated by Brandon into small towns would be easier targets for gangs. If they are illegal, they are not going to the Sheriff. Drugs like Meth in rural areas have always been a problem.

Some States make themselves targets while others encourage criminal activity with their policies. I sympathize with the rural areas whose votes essentially no longer count in most State and Federal Elections (except for State and federal House Reps). University towns and large cities control the States. Wisconsin would likely remain a solidly red state if it were not for Madison and Milwaukee. Still, though, a large percentage of rural voters are too busy to vote. It would require 100% voter registration and probably 80-100% of rural voters to participate in order to offset the votes from urban areas. I do not have the numbers, but I suspect it is likely that the percentage was between 33% and 50% in the last election. However, PA with the Amish and rural vote kicked butt last year. Wisconsin, on the other hand, is screwed with its State Supreme Court, rubber-stamping anything Evers' does. They are not even a court anymore; they are just an extension of the liberal Executive branch.

“They’re taking advantage of rural America.”

That’s why democrats are hell bent on gun control..to make it easier and safer for these filth.

A South American gang with many illegal alien members that cropped up to rival the infamous Tren de Aragua is victimizing vulnerable rural Americans, ..."

This "Rural American" can't wait. Open Season with no Bag Limit. The only Grand Jury action will involve Guacamolean Terrorist survivors, of which there will be few if any.

Rural folk are more likely to own weapons - and use them!

Right you are! Add to that, we small-towners don't really trust outsiders as a general rule. A bunch of Venezuelan gang members showing up suddenly in "Podunk", Oklahoma would not fare well at all.
