The U.S. Department of Education has announced that it will resume student loan wage garnishment for borrowers in default, ending a years-long reprieve that began early in the pandemic. For the first time in five years, Americans who have fallen behind on their federal student loans could see part of their paychecks seized to repay that debt. While this move affects millions of borrowers, this is likely to hit women borrowers the hardest, argues 19th News, an independent, nonprofit newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy.

Because.....they got worthless degrees??
So we’re all sotting here hearing about the gender gap, with women leaving men in the dust with regard to college admissions, but then were supposed to panic when more women default?? Its math.
That barista salary won’t cover the Art History loan.
I hope this is true. Female college graduates who are delinquent on their student loans probably voted for Harris by a 99%-1% margin in 2024.
Women and children hardest hit!
So, women are more likely to not pay back their loans?
yes this story ties in with that whole idea, that women, children, and often minority groups, are hit hardest by something happening in the world.
I’m expecting news stories in the months ahead, which will show someone, likely a woman and/or minority group member, who is behind on their loan payments, and the story will be how they lost their job, or the compounding of interest has caused them to fall behind, or some such heart wrenching story.
And then, it will all be blamed on Trump somehow.
Designer purse sales to plummet.
The correct wording is: “Women and minorities hardest hit”
We can’t keep helping these organizations with their talking points.
I believe your summary of the issue is accurate.
Women and children hardest hit!
I paid back my student loan years before the Dems and media made it a big deal. Now, it’s as if it’s some unbearable burden cruelly imposed by a dictatorial regime for sport.
Just shut up and pay the loan.
So what!
My wife, who has degrees in chemistry, operations research and is an expert programmer, laughs in the face of the idiot writing that article.
As Students Are Forced to Pay Back Loans, Women Will Bear The Brunt
Surprised the headline didn’t read:
“Women and Minorities will Bear the Brunt”
If women have more loans it is to be expected.
Those "women's studies" degrees show they learned nothing useful in their studies. Economics would have been a better degree course.
“Women and minorities hardest hit” - Rush-ism
My doctor wife who served as a doctor in the Army to pay for her education similarly laughs. Zero tolerance for these deadbeats from her.
