Trump to Meet Carney for First Time Since Canadian’s Election Win
Breitbart | 05/06/2025 | Simon Kent

U.S. President Donald Trump will sit down with newly elected Prime Minister Mark Carney in Washington, DC, on Tuesday for the first meeting between the two since the Canadian’s election win.

They’ll have a lot to talk about.

The 60-year-old Liberal Party leader and former central bank governor pledged during the Canadian election campaign Trump would “never break” Canada, vowing Ottawa would look to forge new trading alliances with its southern neighbor even as he added the “special relationship” with the U.S. is “over.”

I'm sure President Trump will hold his own with this globalist POS.

I’m hoping for a continental energy deal that takes Carney out of being able to control Alberta.

It appears to me that Ottawa’s relationship with Alberta is basically mercantile. Like the way UK used to treat Ireland. We saw how that ultimately worked out.

It is and, basically, Ottawa is using the same strategy that the British used on Ireland to bring Ireland to its knees. Just keep taking Alberta’s wealth and wait for Alberta to be irreparable and then make demands that brings Alberta to its knees, like signing over their wealth to Quebec because Ottawa is basically an agent of Quebec.

I’m fully cognizant of Ottawa’s strategy on this point. Just like Ireland had to sign over its lands to the British elite, Alberta will be made to sign over its oil for the benefit of Quebec, after being broken.

Here’s a prediction. Carney leaves the meeting slouched shouldered, head down, wearing a red MAGA cap.

Alberta will be the 51st state.

Looks like we’ll have two new NFL teams in the Stampeders and the Eskimoes (yes they will have to change the name back).

I hope that Albertans will make that choice and go through hell and high-water before Ottawa has a chance to break my province.

Ottawa is indeed using that strategy on Alberta, Carney needs to realize the strategy Ottawa is using on Alberta can be used on Canada as a whole by the USA.

Approximately 70-75% of Canada’s trade is with the USA; there is simply no way to replace that amount of trade with any other combination of countries.

Canada’s economy will be in a depression in 6-9 months if this trade war continues, Carney given his background probably thinks thru his WEF connections has leverage over the USA, which I don’t think he has.

Trump should just tell him; this is the deal we want and there is really nothing to negotiate, take the deal or suffer the consequences.

Yep, and remind him he has no cards.

Carney running against Trump’s mouth, rather than for his socialist policies, won’t work for long. Socialists and environmental zealots eventually run out of other people’s money to spend.

When Mexican workers contribute more to our country than Canadians, you know they're pretty weak.

Trump should make some friendly vague ambiguous statements. Leave it at that, find better deals with Mexico and new supply chains in US or abroad.
Let Canada’s economy suffer and then wait until they come back beg for a deal.
I think any deal with Canada should prioritize Alberta’s autonomy in making deals directly with US.

The Canadians really showed us l guess. They elected this leftist scumbag because they hated mean Mr.Trump. Proving once again why they deserve the world’s under achiever title.

Agree. I feel for the decent Canadians who want to break the chains of globalism, but they have work to do. Politically, they are where we were when Obama was elected in 2008. Keep grinding, eh?

and if you go to Canada, don’t pay in U.S. dollars because it’s 1.38 Canadian dollars and they will take it at a bar and they won’t return with change.
