India's electronic voting system is praised globally for its simplicity and security. Unlike others, it's offline, tamper-proof, and transparent. Verified VVPAT slips and legal scrutiny ensure unmatched trust in election results.
In a world riddled with digital threats, India has quietly built the gold standard for electronic voting — one vote at a time.
Statements from United States Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, have once again brought Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) back to the centre of global discussion.
Can EVMs be hacked? This is the big question that is being asked globally.
India Today dives deep and brings out facts about India's EVMs.
In a recent and startling statement, United States Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, revealed that her office had obtained evidence of vulnerabilities in certain Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), capable of being hacked to flip votes. The statement has added fuel to the growing global concern over the integrity and reliability of electronic voting systems.
But while such fears loom large in many parts of the world, one country stands as a shining exception — India.
India has the world's largest democracy and the biggest elections were held in 2024. A couple of months later elections were held in the United States of America and with regard to the election results. It was none other than Elon Musk who had complimented India and its voting and counting.
To understand the uniqueness of India's Electronic Voting Machines, we first need to grasp the scale of the Indian democratic exercise. With nearly 100 crore (1 billion) eligible voters, India conducts the largest electoral exercise on the planet. In contrast, most other democracies have a fraction of that number, often using complex systems involving hybrid models — ballot papers, electronic systems, internet voting, and private networks—all...

US voting hacks started when Obama was elected, no one had a clue, no one watching.
Naan sense.
No, they started before that. They started when BO gave his speech at the 2004 Democrat Convention.
A very infamous man once said,
“ it is not who votes, that counts, it is who counts the votes that “count”(Win elections).
Bad paraphrasing from me but it is truth.
In the USA I’d never let another Democrat count votes without, some other party non-communist representative watching on and that is all they do, watch.
Democrats are weeping.
It's why Hillary was so confident that she would win that she did not even bother campaigning, and then "too big to rig" happened. The CIA told her it was in the bag. To this day she cannot accept it. Same thing happened to Kamala.
One reason that voting machines in India are not susceptible to external vote manipulation is that the components are not built in China, which provides parts that permit tinkering with collected data from an external source.
The cheapest source for a vital component may not always be the best choice. Just sayin’.
And, they are somehow able to provide and require every voter with photo ID. Something that is beyond the capacity of several American states.
They were cheating via machine long before Obama.
To prevent multiple voting, don’t they place an ink stain on every voter’s finger in India?
Vote cheating goes back to the ancient Greeks
Electronic vote cheating I read about with the electro-mechanical machines in the early 1970’s when I first started paying attention to voting. G
Sure, digital cheating is sophisticated but it isn’t new. It is just modern, the latest update.
well before Obama. just became more obvious to some people then. fraud in some form has been going on likely since the beginning of the Country.
The article cites an Elon tweet where he says India counted 640 million votes in on day.
If we start using simple voting machines how will the democrats cheat?
Very unfair, trans-women, feminists, illegal aliens, and the deceased hardest hit.
I believe, but I don’t have any data, that the democrats have 5 to 8 million fraudulent votes nationwide every election cycle. There is just TOO much counting after election day and TOO many precincts with 100%++ voter turnout.
“Can EVMs be hacked?”
Except for two tin cans connected with string, what can’t be hacked?
The India voting machines have no electronic communication capability, by design. No LAN, now WiFi, no IR.
Process controls on the human operators. The machine only kill in movies.
One reason that voting machines in India are not susceptible to external vote manipulation is that the components are not built in China, which provides parts that permit tinkering with collected data from an external source.
The cheapest source for a vital component may not always be the best choice. Just sayin’.>>> yeahhh the china machines are going to kill us.
