Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a televised presidential cabinet meeting Thursday that his agency will investigate and identify the cause of rising autism rates in the U.S. by September, though scientists have said a large part of the jump in rates are linked to improvements in autism awareness and diagnoses.
Kennedy said the Health and Human Services Department has started a “massive testing and research effort” involving “hundreds of scientists from around the world” that will allow the government to know by September the cause behind the jump in autism rates, adding “we’ll be able to eliminate those exposures.”
About one in 36 children were identified with autism spectrum disorder in a 2020 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, up significantly from the one in 150 children identified with autism in 2000.
Kennedy added the Health and Human Services Department most recent numbers on autism cases “we think, are going to be about one in 31.”
President Donald Trump speculated on the cause of the rise in cases, baselessly suggesting it could be related to consumption of certain foods or drugs or “maybe it’s a shot,” pushing a popular, debunked conspiracy that vaccines cause autism.
Scientific studies have continuously shown no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which cited its own studies and a review from the National Academy of Medicine.

I have no idea how reliable that study is but he apparently believes it.
Seems like everybody is on “The Spectrum” somewhere these days! Gotta have a diagnosis for that behavior/personality! ADHD, Autism, etc...get them on Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall XR, and/or Vyvanse!

It’s obvious you don’t know a thing about ADHD. It’s caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, much like depression and bipolar disease. Do you think the latter are made up conditions too? It also has a 70% rate of occurrence in families. It’s definitely real.
Screw autism as a malady of concern. I want to know what mental malady causes people to vote Democrat as if they have a conscience.

IMHO, It is the widespread use of recreational drugs and alcohol in people of child bearing age.
He didn’t say it was caused by fluoride. He said fluoride seems to be connected to several issues and needs to be studied more. He said there is no need to add it because toothpaste and mouthwash have enough for cavity protection.
In some areas fluoride naturally occurs, I raised 3 kids on well water that was later determined to be very high in fluoride. None had cavity issues, one ended up with a mineral stain on her teeth and none with autism. I realize that is not research, just my experience with water with far more fluoride than was added to city water.
Watch for the big Pharma cabal to increase their influence on the US Congress to pass laws to protect them from millions of the coming law suits. Just my sense.

This gives the impression that there’s been a big increase in autism when it’s really a matter of bookkeeping. Lump everything together and you get a bigger number.

I’ve long suspected the primary cause is plopping kids down in front of screens from a verybtoyng age to babysit/keep them quiet. These poor kids never have interactions with real people on a consistent basis so don’t really learn to communicate.

That could be one cause. But we cannot ignore the thousands of mothers who lived clean lives and strove to take care of their health during pregnancy and still winding up with an autistic child.
