Clem Burke, whose versatile drumming propelled the iconic rock group Blondie during its decades performing everything from new-wave punk to disco-infused tunes, has died. He was 70.
The band said in a statement on its website Monday that he died from cancer but no additional details were provided.

Idolized Keith Moon, and definitely you can hear the influence.
She/they were making the casino circuit here in my locale a couple of years back. Sorry we didn't go... One of the great underrated talents of the punk movement.

This news is strange, because just yesterday I was listening to “Dreaming” and “Atomic” and thinking about how underrated Burke was. He single-handedly made “Dreaming” one of Blondie’s best songs.
RIP to a great talent.
Everyone thought Blondie was using a drum machine for those big disco hits... he was the drum machine.
