Illegal immigrants are claiming billions of dollars worth of Medicaid and other US benefits, according to data uncovered by the head of DOGE's border team.
Antonio Gracias said around 1.3 million non-citizens are currently claiming Medicaid, at an estimated cost of around $6.5 billion.
The stark revelation came after Gracias and his team began probing the huge uptick in non-citizens who were assigned Social Security numbers last year.
The figure leapt from 400,000 in 2021, to more than two million in 2024. Among those are people who have entered the US legally on visas and green cards and who pay into the US tax system.
But a large proportion are undocumented migrants who are benefitting from 'maximum pay' and 'minimum collection,' Gracias said.
'The defaults in the system, from Social Security to all benefit programs, have been set to maximum inclusion, maximum pay for these people, and minimum collection,' he told the All-In podcast.
'Already, we found 1.3 million of them on Medicaid as an example,' he continued. 'And we found people in this population registered to vote.'

Hopefully in the Social Security Administration’s records of each person assigned a Social Security Number there is data that can indicate that SSN holder as a non-citizen and the type of non-citizen.

Many years ago (2007 or so) i had a table display for my business at an event held at a church. The man having the table display next to me explained it helped low income people. I thought thats nice. When the doors opened he was flooded with non english speaking people and he was showing them how to sign up for various helps. Over the next few minutes i realized likely govt money. I wasnt thinking its so nice anymore. I’m working hard to get clients and income and others get hand outs. It’s been going on in one way or other for many decades. My only hope is God knows and will sort out matters with each person as He knows best. And thank God Trump and some others are in position to try to right a few things
Many of them are really costing a lot of money because they have numerous health problems a diseases including psychiatric issues.
Not to mention that the taxpayers are paying to have them reproduce like rabbits. Even older couples are reproducing and having children with Down’s syndrome because the more kids they have, the more money they rake in.

The article states the practice of handing out Social Security numbers to non citizens began in 2003. In 2003 Republican George W. Bush was President and Republicans held the majority in both houses of Congress.
Democrats are not responsible for all of the corruption and disfunction DOGE is revealing. Republicans were 100% behind lax immigration policies and big social welfare spending.
