I wonder how much USAID money they were getting?
TV and radio are legacy media. Starlink gets internet everywhere and makes them even less relevant. NPR and PBS have already said they get enough money from other sources and don’t need tax money.
The solution here is simple. NPR and PBS should behave like every other media organization. Sell advertising time. Round up corporate sponsors, etc.
Fox News receives no government funding. And neither should NPR or PBS. Stand on your own two feet, guys.

How much did Ray Kroc’s wife give them? Was it for a particular purpose or general operating funds? Did they burn through it already?
He went on a tour of fly over country and when to BBQ’s, church services, went hunting with red necks, and did all kinds of thing he had never done before in his life. It opened his eyes to how honest, virtuous and kind those that considered themselves Republicans really were. By the end of his trip he felt more Republican than he had believed possible.
His book explained in detail how NPR was a perfect example of “Group think.” He explained who he did not know anyone who would admit to being a Republican. None of the people at NPR knew any Republicans. The bubble that those working at NPR was so extremely liberal that they had not empathy or understanding of anything but an ultra liberal perspective.
Yes, shut down the funding to NPR and PBS. And if you get a chance read Ken Sterns book, as it will explain so much of what is wrong with all the main stream media.
