Actually W wanted Harriet Miers but she was just a Bush crony, not a washinton RINO crony. So the GOP rejected her and we got Roberts instead, and then Requist died and Bush decided to just make Roberts the chief without him ever sitting a day on the court and the senate happily approved him.

I think the story is shaky. There is no mention of any specific cases being represented by any of the law firms from whom she got paid to recruit talent.

It’s pretty rare for corporate cases to arrive at the Supreme Court. Cases that go that high are typically something that requires a constitutional interpretation.

Regardless, without specifics it’s sort of silly to be getting upset and outraged over something that may never have happened.
