Two out of five D.C. restaurants say they could close down by the end of the year, according to a recent survey.

By the numbers: The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington surveyed more than 200 restaurants in January and February.

The survey shows that two in five, or 40%, of full-service casual places said the year likely to close in the coming year.

62% of restaurants surveyed reported lower profits in 2024.

Last year, D.C. saw it's highest number of restaurant closures – but also the highest number of openings.

The DC leftists did say they were gonna boycott DC restaurants and bars if they’re forced in the office and it looks like that’s the case.

No one in DC cared about the businesses that closed around the country in 2020 and 2021.

We’re closing our restaurant after 15 years but hey we’re in California where min wage is now $20.
My electric bill is usually about $5000 per month. Water $350, propane about $2000, sewer over $2000 per month.
Throw in stupid taxes, insurance costs.
I can’t believe I’ve waited so long.

We’ve won best fine dining several years and numerous other awards every year.

My building is better off empty.

F this gov

California is your home. You shouldn't be forced to relocate. Your family is in California and you've been in the area for a long time.

Have you thought about relocating?

Texas?

“My electric bill is usually about $5000 per month.”

A fair amount of electric heat, of various sources?

Sounds crazy. One could generate electricity onsite for less?

“We’ve won best fine dining several years and numerous other awards every year.”

Come to the Des Moines metro and open a place.
Much friendlier environment than California ,
I can help you find a location !
