Why Trump trusted him I'll never know but he was initially in charge of the staffing during the transition and he got fired for reasons unstated, then Trump sought his council for FBI director for some reason. Bad call, definitely a bad call.

It takes time to build cases and prosecutions but The thing that worries many on the right is that if the situation were reversed and the demons were coming into office and they had the probable crimes to prosecute, they would already have appointed a congressional committee or various committees and would be doing what cops all around the world do: hauling people in to question, discuss and putting HEAT on people and getting them nervous and putting them in more of a deal making mood.
