On February 27, 2025, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon allowed Wyoming Bill 172, the “Wyoming Repeal Gun Free Zones Act”, to become law without his signature. Governor Gordon objected to the bill but said it would become law.
Section 1 W.S. 6-8-105 is created to read:6-8-105. Exceptions for state issued concealed carry permits; penalty.
(a)This section shall be known as and may be cited as the “Wyoming Repeal Gun Free Zones Act.”
(b) Persons lawfully carrying concealed weapons in Wyoming under W.S. 6‑8-104(a)(ii) through (iv) may carry a concealed weapon in the following places:
(i) Any meeting of a governmental entity;
(ii) Any meeting of the legislature or a committee thereof;
(iii) Any public building not otherwise prohibited under W.S. 6-8-104(t) or regulated under this section.
(c) Persons lawfully carrying concealed weapons in Wyoming with a permit issued under W.S. 6-8-104(a)(ii) may carry a concealed weapon in the following places:
(i) Any public school, public college or university athletic event taking place on public property that does not sell alcoholic beverages;
(ii) Any public elementary or secondary school facility;
(iii) Any public college or university facility.
Over the last century, local governmental units have been allowed to flaunt unconstitutional laws that infringe on the exercise of Second Amendment rights. Local governments are not sovereign entities inside state borders.

I carry pretty much everywhere all the time.....I’ve walked past those “no guns allowed” signs on numerous occasions.
If they’re gonna catch me they better have a metal detector handy.
I think the answer to gun free zones is to make the people who have them liable for death and injury caused when active killers use them for sport.
I’ve carried my gun for about thirty years. I drew it once. About two in the morning, I decided to stop on my way home from a trip at the local post office to get my mail as my tiny box would be crammed with circulars and the post people were upset when I didn’t empty it. Post offices are gun free. I used my code to enter. When I came out with an armful of mail two men were sprinting across the empty parking lot from two directions. I threw the mail down and dove into my pocket. Before I had the gun out, I heard, “It’scoolit’scool,” and I looked up to find those guys running full tilt away. Gun free...kiss my butt.
Okay, so that’s Gun Free Zones. When are we going to have Free Gun Zones, where before you walk into a place, they give you a gun.
The anti-gun radicals thought they had something when they got the Gun Free Zones laws passed decades ago. Now as with almost all gun laws we see it did not work as criminals do not obey laws.
I remember a bar down in Roswell NM that was so dangerous they stopped everyone at the door and checked them for a gun or knife. If one was not found on you, they issued you one before you went on in!.
At least they don’t have one of those “one-gun-a-month” laws.
That gets expensive, and I’m running out of storage space!
Yep....got a place in the rougher part of my town the locals call “the keg of knives”. 😏
The federal ban remains?
progress!
abolishing ayeeeteeeefff please, President Trump...
why are we wasting $$ on a patently unconstitutional bureau?
if the staff wish to retain their civil service sinecures and pension schemes, reassign them to some useful, constitutional work. border guards?
Governor sounds like a RINO.
The federal ban remains?
Most “Gun free zones” are from state and local laws and regulations.
Thanks. And I had the Gun Free School Zones in mind. That also needs to end.
Another RHINO that wears dresses. F ‘em.
Yes but it would have to be one of the Union government hoods who makes the arrest.
Gordon=loser.
Off topic...

Concealed Carry?
.
Amazing!
The "leaders" who administer gun-free free-fire zones whould be subject to administrative punishment whenever an innocent in their zone is injured by force. They should be shot, kicked, stabbed, etc. in whatever degree the innocent victim of their malfeasance was subjected to.
After the first instance, I'd bet the remaining free-fire sones will be repealed.
