As a lifelong Democrat, I never imagined I would watch my own party embarrass itself so thoroughly — and so publicly — as it did during Tuesday’s joint session of Congress.
From obnoxious booing to childish protest signs to a sitting member of Congress having to be physically removed from the chamber, Democrats turned what should have been a solemn, dignified event into a bad reality show.
And for what?......
When we act like this, we embarrass ourselves and alienate the very voters we claim to champion.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) called it “a sad cavalcade of self-owns and unhinged petulance” that only made Trump look “more presidential and restrained.”
He warned that Democrats are becoming the political equivalent of a car alarm — constantly blaring, and increasingly ignored.
Voters want leaders who act like adults, who clap for good ideas, no matter who proposes them, and who show bipartisan respect for families who’ve suffered unimaginable loss.
Americans are exhausted by this nonsense.
They want leaders who solve problems, not politicians chasing retweets.
They want representatives who stand up for common sense — not political theater.
Until we get back to that, we don’t deserve to govern.
I’m not saying we should agree with everything Trump says — far from it.
However, there’s a way to disagree with dignity and class.
My fellow Democrats didn’t just miss that opportunity — they sprinted in the opposite direction.
I’m embarrassed for my party.
But more importantly, I am worried for my country.
If Democrats can’t even applaud a kid beating cancer, grieving families, saving tax dollars, securing our borders or a call for peace — what does that say about us?

Poor Robert. I pity this guy’s future. No doubt he’ll be scorned by Dims, he just did the unforgiveable thing.
He’s correct about what he is seeing.
However, he just pursues the same destructive policies with a more civil tone.
How can a party that hates God, hates America, loves to kill babies and believes that men beating up women is a good thing embarrass itself?
Why can’t those dems like him who are realizing how horrid the dem party has become just leave it?
The freaks have the reins, and they’re not giving them up easily. David Hogg’s ascension to Vice Chairmanship should tell us that they’re not through with that. There is more than the reins to it, though, there’s also the pocketbooks, and when the heavy Dem donors decide they’ve had enough there will be change. Given what we saw last night that won’t be anytime soon.
Say what you will, that comment by Fetterman is so true, and on point.
I am only surprised, that the leftists did not break out, into a song and dance routine.
But, what they did, was of course, the usual song and dance routine: nothing.
Like their communistic, humorless Four Year Plan against telling jokes that focus on their deceptions:
Such as, the multiple not-Biden but Obama clones who in combinations were the President, so many times, while Biden's cocktail of:
Anti-Freeze, Vodka, and Viagrastruggled to keep Biden upright.
With a high chance there's a criminal involved.
That car alarm analogy will be repeated often for years to come.
Really mr Holden? Is that a confession about how bli d you have been over your lifetime? Because we conservatives have been watching your party embarras th3mselves over and over and over- it wasn’t like they were hiding how despicable they were all these great many years-they were a,ways upfront and proud of how despicable they are- a d you are only just now seeing it?
I actually have that (and Song of the South) saved (from before they were banned).
The rat party already embarrassed itself decades ago.
If ever at all.
The current crop of Democrats are incapable of changing because they’re true believers.
