It sure is nice for Europe to fight Russia for us. I wonder who President Trump will cajole into fighting China for us too?

Well, do you think we should let the Chinese threaten us, or do you call their bluff and set them straight.

China shoots their mouth off. The WH is expected to respond and they turn it over to the Pentagon. Appropriate.

Hopefully,, this statement is only a part of what used to be called ‘Saber Rattling’, or using aggressive rhetoric to define your country’s position. That would be a huge undertaking. Would make the Ukraine/Russian War look like
a child’s game by comparison.

I suspect China already has several score of their loyal citizens embedded into our country, ready to act at the bidding of President Xi Jinping.

Until very recently, they even had their own “police stations” within large blue states like New York. I believe those facilities are for Chinese-Americans who act to obstruct the will of President Xi.

If we get into shooting war with China then does this give license to patriot/nationalist/protectionists that wanted high trade barriers to hunt down free traitors™???

Free trade and offshoring leaves us no choice. We no longer have the industrial chops to slog it out with China. The USA is for all intents an purposes, a developing industrial nation.

Imagine if we had offshored our industrial capacity to Japan in the 1920s, when we were still on good terms with them.

In recent years, the Western world has seen a shift in the way Chinese diplomacy is conducted. In contrast with Deng Xiaoping’s strategy of “keeping a low profile,” Chinese officials have more openly expressed controversial thoughts, often with negative ramifications for bilateral relations with other countries. During the Covid-19 pandemic, this behavior has become known as “wolf warrior diplomacy

Right. Plus the NY Post is very much like most UK papers. They can’t resist sensationalizing every headline.

It was never free trade since other countries were employing protectionism.

Well, the Pacific is much larger than the Atlantic... Maybe we can get Japan, ROK and ROC to team up. Philippines and Vietnam can supply cannon fodder.
