Arab states adopt Egyptian alternative to Trump's 'Gaza Riviera'

DOHA/CAIRO, March 4 (Reuters) - Arab leaders adopted an Egyptian reconstruction plan for Gaza on Tuesday that would cost $53 billion and avoid displacing Palestinians from the enclave, in contrast to U.S. President Donald Trump's"Middle East Riviera" vision.

The White House said the plan adopted by Arab states did not address Gaza's reality and that Trump stood by his proposal.

Trump's plan to displace Palestinians in a U.S. takeover of the enclave received global condemnation last month and echoed long-standing Palestinian fears of being permanently driven from their homes.

---snip---

Sisi said Egypt had worked in cooperation with Palestinians on creating an administrative committee of independent, professional Palestinian technocrats entrusted with the governance of Gaza after the end of the Israel-Gaza war.

The committee would be responsible for the oversight of humanitarian aid and managing the Strip's affairs for a temporary period, in preparation for the return of the Palestinian Authority (PA), he said.

The other critical issue is the fate of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, the PA's rival, whose October 7, 2023, attack on Israel killed 1,200 people with more than 250 taken as hostages, according to Israeli tallies.

I would guess from articles previous, that quite a few “Gazans” are very much hamas. So if the Arab plan is to figure out something to do with hamas since they anticipate P Authority will at some point take over Gaza, then in effect they will need to figure out what to do with a large portion of Gazans, not just hamas.

So the Arabs spend billions. Gaza is rebuilt. Gaza types attack Israel. Gaza is flattened. Rinse and repeat.

Leaving Hamas in place with built-in arms cashes and rocket firing positions, branched off from hardened steel lined tunnels. There would be built-in rape rooms, pedophile playgrounds, and hard cash and gold storage rooms, all coming standard, unless Hamas opts for the deluxe package.

Under Trump’s plan, where would the displaced Gazans go?

I thought the big stumbling block wasn’t the money, it’s that the Arab nations don’t want to accept them.

UAE and Saudi Arabia need to team up to deal with Gaza. Saudi Arabia sends in their intelligence teams to find all the Hamas savages then sends in their military to deal with them. Then UAE can build a world class resort similar to what they’ve done with Dubai.

Libya actually said they would take 100,000. But there’s a million more to go.

If they stay, the money will be diverted to weapons and they will just blow it up. You have to remove the detonator.

Detonator=Palestinians

$56 billion, split it between the Gazans and Libya. Libya can give them land and build up some infrastructure and the Palestinians can go there, build homes and farms and businesses. Libya could also become a “Riviera” on the Med, build a port and trains and they could become an export hub for all of African trade (which was part of Qaddafi’s vision for Libya, except he was crazy) into Europe. Libya is a big country but has a small population plenty of room and they will need people to farm, irrigate, etc.

Then you would have Libya, Egypt (Abu Dhabi bought 170 sq miles of land there), Gaza and Tel Aviv/Haifa all being potentially nice tourist destinations and hubs for trade - with too much to lose making war.

Hamas in Arabic means violence. Gazans can't say they thought they voted for rainbows and unicorns.

.
The plan is to create a prairie dog community for the Palestinians; to accommodate their love of underground tunnels.
