But who knows? Maybe Jesse snuck back to ABQ from Alaska.
“I knew crime was bad in ABQ, but not THIS bad.”
As a resident of Rio Rancho where we have police that actually attempt to enforce the law, I believe it’s actually worse, at least in the city of Albuquerque. A lot just goes unreported there because nothing will happen. Daughter worked in a retail store here people would openly steal stuff. Police were not responsive. Son in ABQ had his truck broken into and everything stolen that was in it. Filed a report but essentially told nothing will happen.
Hey! We’re #1 in something for a change!
When I lived there sixty years ago and fifty years ago there were plenty of jobs and the schools were great.
Now NM is on Hard Times due to being Californication taking place same as Colorado has been Californicated.
Sixty years ago Arkan-saw and Mississippi fought to keep from having the worst schools in the nation.
Now they show a sigh of relief as New Mexico schools are now rated as the worst!

In the past, when I visited my home state, I always felt as if I was on HOLY GROUND when I crossed into New Mexico.
Now when I visit I make sure to Lock and Load. In the past I carried a short AR-15. Now the state has become so Californicated I would probably be arrested for crossing the State Line and definitely would if I visited Colorado since they just banned certain ugly rifles. And at 78 years of age I have a clean police record!

I purchased my Ford 150 Lightning pickup there and drove it back to Reno. Nice community and dealership.

Of the 111 Albuquerque gangs, 61 are Hispanic, 31 black, and 19 white.
Alburquerque is half hispanice. The gangs are mostly hispanic.
Surprisingly El Paso is lower than the national average. Being right at the border you’d think it’d be worse than Albuquerque.
I was TDY with my boss to Kirtland AFB. He had a way of asking weird questions. We were at a gas station off base just outside the Wyoming Gate late at night and he asked the cashier “where do I have to go to get shot around here?” She just stared at him for a bit, then replied “just step outside.”
I hate going there and try to avoid it like the plague.
A friend of ours had a son on Albuquerque PD. He left and came to Texas. He loves it and even found a wife.
votes blue correct?
I spent the night in Albuquerque a few years ago and the hotel I stayed at actually had a firearms prohibited sign on the front door. I decided that what they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them.
I understand the Wyoming gate, which is in the “War Zone” received a few shots and isn’t even open at night anymore. Too dangerous.
What about the people who didn’t vote rat?

Wyoming and Central has been bad for some time, but it’s horrible now. Pretty much anywhere on Central is bad, but East Central is the worst. I always used Eubank Gate when I had work on base.
Sad, because when I moved here in 1992, Albuquerque felt like a big “small town”.
I remember a bar down in Roswell that was so bad they stopped everyone at the door and searched them for guns or knives.
If they found none they would issue you one before you went on in. ;-)
I had a coworker who had a son that worked for APD. His son informed him the have four traffic officers for the entire city. If you want to speed, they aren’t gonna get you. They also assist with violent crime.
