I heard the recording on Fox. The smaller jet pilot did not follow ATC’s directions. Got mixed up and only repeated part of his instructions.
Sorry, Rosario is one of the islands in the Puget Sound, WA. Nice restaurant - the runway was just laid down in a field near the tourist area, it’s paved and just barely wide enough for light planes. The field has a hump in it and they didn’t want to flatten it because there’d be a berm on both sides. Depending on wind direction, you sometimes have to taxi the length of the rwy, spin around and full throttle, 2deg flaps. STOL.
Yes, he did. I agree with him. Thanks.
On the inside I am sure he was raging. He was a pro though, didn’t want to rile everyone else up.
Wow, amazing job by that pilot!!!
He deserves a medal for that one.
Aren’t you supposed to have tower clearance to cross a runway?
And I truly appreciate that and have since I first remember flying as a kid.🙏👍
Yikes !!!
I’ll bet the ATC Recordings captured it.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Things like this bring back events from a while ago, that we thought we were over, but never really are.
❤️
Yep, confused. Tried to sound in command, but in reality, didn’t know his stuff.
This guy got it all wrong. All wrong.
Nah, he sounded like a white guy on the air traffic control.
I often remember this from when Rush was alive, when someone mentions deer.

Here’s a cute adjunct to this story, that happened just a couple of weeks ago. We were visiting our son and his family. Riding in the car were my son, husband, and not quite 4 year old grandson.
There was a deer crossing sign, and grandson noticed it. I asked him if he ever saw deer come near there, because it is on the way to their home from his preschool. He said no.
So I told the story of Donna who called into the radio station.
After a minute, grandson politely said, “Grandma, I didn’t want to interrupt you, but what was that you said before?” I told him a woman was concerned about where the deer were crossing. He said, “no, before that!” I told him a woman called into a radio station to complain about the deer crossing on the highway.
He said, “yeah, that was it! What’s a radio station, grandma?”
Oh boy, the kid doesn’t miss a beat!
I explained that it was sort of like Spotify or Pandora in the old days. That the radio stations picked what music we listened to, and sometimes we could call in to make a request. And that before podcasts there were “talk shows” on the radio, and listeners could call in and talk about things that might have been bothering them.
He thought that was so funny.
Too darn smart. Not even four years old.
This was not intersecting runways. The small jet pilot crossed an active runway without clearance on a taxiway.
Gonna let that slide.
I know a few “white guys” who I would personally consider them to be DEI hires. Got where they were for *other* attributes.
True.
Runway incursions are bad news. When taxing you always look both ways before you cross, even after approval.
Taxiing
Paine Field in Everett, Washington has a 1% grade that rises from each end. The middle of the runway is approximately 50feet higher than each end.
Klamath Falls airport is near dead flat.
Whidbey Naval Air Station has a dip in the middle of the runway.
