Last refinery in the USA was built in the 70’s. Last one built in Canada was 1984.
If they can’t get it done in the next 3.5 years there is no guarantee the next president won’t kill the project again.
The damage done by Biden will hunt us for years
First, they have to reacquire the land rights if they lost them due to inaction.
Second, they may have to redesign the routes if they have to acquire new land. Things may have been built in the intended path over the last four years.
Third, the contractors who were lined up four years ago might have taken on other work that they are committed to. New contractors would have to be hired.
Fourth, materials acquisition may not be as easy now. We're not talking about just steel and aluminum. We're talking about pumps, valves, gauges, gaskets, seals, flow meters, temperature control, computer monitoring systems, maintenance access point hatches... all this has to be redesigned and procured.
Fifth, contracts with oil and gas companies have to be secured to provide the product that will be transported to and from the pipeline. Those companies that were lined up before might not be in a position to commit to this pipeline now.
There are a lot of things that were all lined up before that have to be started all over again.

And where does the oil sand come from? Canada. One would expect that Trump going after Canada being the 51st state was just telling Fidel’s spawn to get going and whatever tariffs thrown at us by the Canucks they’ll feel it back.
JD Vance is waiting and ready.
The Federal works just add rules which increase costs with limited or no benefit.

And we have 2 years...not 4. Statistically, we'll lose the House.
Biden was such a spiteful, lowlife POS.
Agreed. But, won’t some district judge somewhere just block it, like they’ve done with everything else?
Personal opinion is that if blocking is attempted, Trump will simply ignore it and dare the judge to try to enforce it. Appeals take too long. Go Trump go.
wouldn’t it be just perfect if those thousands of government employees about to be canned were given “an offer you can’t refuse” and reassigned to positions working on the XL pipeline. like the now old “Learn to code” saying, the new mantra will be “learn to pipefit”. talk about having a fit!

I don’t get the negativity. I expect that only the name will be the same, and that’s a good thing. Some, and maybe only some, of the work that has already been done will be useful.
America needs the jobs and energy. Europe is going to freeze to death, strangled by their Paris Accords. The example that America sets will determine how much they suffer. People won’t willingly eat bugs, while they watch Americans eat steak.
There’s a new Sheriff in town. The FAA just expressed approval for a Space-X launch. Maybe FedGov can save some money on robe-cleaning costs.
Not unless the feds enter into a contract that pays them for yet more losses if it is canceled yet again.
with all the American taxpaying voters have witnessed being uncovered since the election of President Donald J Trump and what we WILL see uncovered and openly exposed in the coming days, weeks and months, I firmly believe that the democrat party, along with their complicit rinoclass progressive cohorts and nevertrumper’s, will not win a major elective office for at least 20 more years. “you can fool ALL of the people some of the time and some of the people ALL of the time but you can’t fool ALL of the people ALL of the time” has come to fruition...just in time.
Biden caused enough damamage to deserve something very special. Any ideas other than lifetime imprisonment what it should be?
The pipeline is a tax increase facilitator. All the crude flowing through the pipeline will be taxed at 25%. The Trump tariff is a tax on the import of Canadian oil.
“come back to America, and get it built

It’s not an American company??
Let Sarah be happy in Alaska. She is not needed. Time for a new wave of leaders.
