All it would take is a vote to get out of House judiciary committee and then typically a majority House vote to authorize an investigation. It doesn’t matter what the Senate does.
If they were serious about checking judicial abuse, they would get these investigations going. This would act as a powerful deterrent if used. With all the COIs uncovered with a just a cursory look, there’s probably fraud, kickbacks etc behind the scenes that would justify a FBI investigation.
The judiciary sorely needs to be checked.

I see this whole thing as a lesson in separation of powers. If we accomplish nothing else, we need to give the judiciary the bloody nose it so richly deserves. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Impeachment is easy; 50%+1 in the House. Conviction in the Senate requires 2/3rds vote. But there’d be a trial and that could get ugly for the Judge.

Hastings was convicted by the Senate and thus lost his salary while in prison. But when he got out, he was elected to the House where he lived out his days.
