Nearly 200K sign petition to revoke Musk’s Canadian citizenship

Thousands of individuals have signed an online petition urging the revocation of tech billionaire Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship over his involvement in the Trump administration, which the petitioners argue undermines Canada’s sovereignty.

The petition, which is progressing through the Canada’s House of Commons, was filed by Qualia Reed, an author from Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Democrat MP Charlie Angus, a vocal critic of Musk, has also backed the petition, which had garnered over 34,000 signatures from across Canada by Saturday evening, according to Canadian outlet CTV News.

The petition calls on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to cancel Musk’s citizenship and Canadian passport.

An electronic petition is required to have 500 or more signatures to be presented to the House of Commons, which may then lead to a formal response from the government.

Musk was born in South Africa, but he holds Canadian citizenship due to his mother, Maye Musk, who was born in the Canadian city of Regina, Saskatchewan.

over his involvement in the Trump administration,

So Canada is mad as Hell that Trump jokes that Canada is the 51st state and is allegedly fiercely protective of its independence from the United States but is so enthralled by US politics that it wants to revoke Musk's Canadian citizenship due to his "involvement with the Trump Administration." This just goes to show how unserious Canadian political discourse is.

Canadian Ping List

What exactly is a Democrat MP?

The ignorance of U.S. reporters on things Canadian knows no bounds. I’d hate to see what this article would look like if assigned to the least competent reporter at The Hill on things Canadian.

BTW, “The Shill” Elon Musk became a US Citizen in 2002 which makes this article even more useless that even your normal waste of band with “Journalism” standards account for.

If that’s all it takes to get rid of someone’s citizenship, I’ve got a long list of candidates...

The equivalent of about 2 million in the U.S. Given that Canadians are less politically excitable generally, more like 4 million. Not a majority, but a remarkable number for something that normally would be inside baseball.

Kinda hard to progress in parliament when it’s prorogued. Here is a description of it.

Prorogation effectively allows the prime minister to hit pause on Parliament. The government remains in power, but all parliamentary activity — from existing bills and committee work to studies and investigations — comes to a halt.

Gov. Gen. Mary Simon granted the request to prorogue Parliament until March 24.

Honestly, no one should be able to vote in more than one country’s elections.

Canadians are so embarrassing.

Canadians have been steeped in Orange Man Bad rhetoric for so long that the TDS prevents them from thinking anything through.

President Trump detests Justin just like most Canadians. President Trump is trying to make sure Justin’s party never sees power again, which is to Canada’s extreme advantage. But all one has to do is mention Trump, or Musk, and they’ll melt down on cue.....they’ve even tossed their pride and love of Gretzsky aside. Unbelievable.
