After World War II, according to the Potsdam conference held between July 17 and August 2, 1945, Germany was to pay the Allies US$23 billion mainly in machinery and manufacturing plants. Dismantling in the West stopped in 1950

The rest of this was to ensure that Germany would not challenge the USA militarily or in influence while the US army was present. That was worth the price.

It is time to take out the US troops from Germany

William Frawley was a great actor - born in 1887, so that would make him about 138 years old :)
