The downtown Washington, D.C., Ronald Reagan building will undergo a dramatic shift as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) takes over the longtime headquarters of the Agency for International Development (USAID), Fox News Digital has confirmed.
CBP has signed a license agreement to occupy approximately 390,000 usable square feet in the USAID tower," a CBP spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
The news, which was originally reported by Politico, comes after a federal judge on Friday declined to keep in place a temporary block that was preventing President Donald Trump from removing all but a small number of USAID staffers, clearing the way for the administration to continue its dramatic cuts to federal departments

Border Patrol is one agency that has escaped Musk’s wrath. Department of Labor is the other one. Wonder why? Because Trump.
Sort of telling that the ‘Rats were using the Ronald Reagan building to run their embezzlement racket out of.
The media hasn’t got it completely right on Musk and cutting the bloat out of the fedgov.
Some agencies are essential to national security and will probably take less of a hit than others.
Where I worked in the DoD I know people that WANT to take the early retirement offer but are being told they can’t because they support the Navy warfighter and continued hiring is necessary.
She’s dead, Jim.
“Department of Labor is the other one“
This makes me go hmm. This was the one appointment we all had a problem with. The nominee is against right to work laws. Not a good sign if they are getting a pass from DOGE.

Just asking, why would Border Patrol want more facilities in DC? Shouldn’t they want personnel and facilities on the border?
I heard the CBP is one of the few federal agencies that’s actually continuing to hire....for obvious reasons.
They still need a presence in DC.....as distasteful is that may be.
usaid still listed. I like the idea of immigration being in the international trade buildings. Note the other tenants.
What are we trading the illegals for?

The Ronald Reagan building is the first and only federal building dedicated to both government and private use. It is the official World Trade Center in Washington D.C., and houses a premier conference and event center, executive office space, ample meeting, and event facilities, retail, and dining spaces.
Customs and Border Patrol as part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement is already an occupant of this building complex. They are just taking over more office space that USAID had.
I spent a year on detail to BPHQ, the vast majority of agents hate DC and would rather it be somewhere like El Paso TX.
The problem is you need a seat at the table, you have to attend the meetings or things get done without your agencies input.
If you moved the HQ to Texas the agents would have to fly back and forth to DC twice a week.
Thanks!
I get that, but how many seats at the table do you need? And there is this thing called the internet...zoom meetings are quite effective and efficient.
🎯🎩Amen
I agree we could probably send 50% of the agents back to the field. Every office had all that video conference equipment. In ten years I think we use it twice.
LOL! YES.
