CNN is set to fire hundreds of employees on Thursday as the network prepares to restructure itself for the second term of President Donald Trump.

According to CNBC, sources at the network said the layoffs with help CNN lower production costs and consolidate essential teams. Moreover, CNN plans to completely restructure its TV lineup and expand its digital subscriptions.

Moreover, the network may move shows that are produced in New York City or Washington D.C. to Atlanta, Georgia, where the cost of production is cheaper.

fake stream media continues to downsize; unfortunately, none of the CNN talking heads will be fired, only the little people ... [maybe because of contracts?]

btw, the fantasy that digital subscription revenue will replace TV advertising and cable carriage fees is the last refuge of desperate, soon to be fired, media CEOs ...

It’s more the loss of USAID money that’s causing them to shrink at this point.

The thing is, people who want leftist propaganda can get it for free, and don’t need to pay for it.

It’s like the Minneapolis Star and Sickle, as well as other newspapers, saying you can’t read their stories unless you pay for the online subscription. SCREWUM

If CNN wants to save itself hire Brit Hume to run it. Give him authority to hire and fire and establish policy. We will need a replacement for Fox News if the Murdoch boys gain control of it and it seems likely. CNN could become the new Fox as there will be a vacuum for conservative thought when the Murdoch boys take over.

Oddly CNN was wildly successful when first founded years ago. They were politically neutral and were fair in their reporting. On breaking news they were always first regardless of where in the world it happened.

CNN went far left and it has almost killed them and will if they do not change. I do miss the original CNN. I do hope the present CNN dies and takes Jane Fonda with them to political exile. I am not wishing her death but total political obscurity which for a Marxist is worse than death.

Yeah when the article said “expand its digital subscriptions” I was lol.

That is a certain doom loop.

The competition for digital subscriptions is insanely ferocious—and almost all content is available elsewhere on the web for free.

What about all the human interest stories about how CNN is destroying lives and how many people will be hurt by these layoffs? The news will literally stop!

TeeVee by subscription will fail, just as “Interactive TeeVee’ did — and for a related concept. People don’t WANT to work at finding or even influencing TeeVee Content. They want to just WATCH. Passively. They want it served up. Simply.

It’s not the cost. It’s the perceived effort required. People are lazy, hassle-avoiders.

TeeVee, sponsored by commercials, is the winner, long term.

...and all in ONE place, NOT 40,000 “outlets.”

I remember that cnn was allowed to have a news bureau in Baghdad as long as they never said anything bad about Saddam Hussein. They have always been a propaganda outlet in my opinion.

Will their names and pics be published. Those of us who own businesses want to make sure we don’t hire these integrity-free jackals.
