Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has deputized State Department employees to carry out immigration enforcement duties, further expanding the pool of federal workers eligible to assist with President Donald Trump’s mass deportation effort.

Well they wanted a career dealing with people from other countries.....
I can tell you first hand that Diplomatic Security Agents and Regional Security Officers at Posts are NOT doing that. This is a great idea but RSOs already have plenty to do so this is going to be interesting to watch happen.
I certainly hope they were PROPERLY vetted!
Why does the State Department have field offices nationwide?
Do we have embassies in foreign cities like Seattle and Portland?
“Why does the State Department have field offices nationwide?”
Had essentially the same question.
Maybe interacting with foreign sovereign security personnel, here to protect diplomats, or visiting foreign leaders?
Just a guess.
Ok, so they are busy, but to what end? Where do their loyalties lie?
I served as Provost Marshal in Yongsan (Seoul) Korea back in the 90's. The Army Garrison abutted embassy housing and I did a lot of work and coordination with those guys back then. Some of them were former Marines who had done embassy duty, then parlayed their experience to working directly for State. They were pretty serious guys back then, but I have to assume the culture, direction and priorities have changed significantly since then.
Hope each one was vetted.
Her hotness grows.
It’s becoming legendary.
