Hamas says it did ‘everything in its power’ to keep hostages alive
Shortly before the bodies of the four hostages were transferred to the Red Cross, Hamas released a statement in which it repeated its claim that the four hostages whose bodies are being returned today were killed in Israeli strikes.
For context: Hamas claimed in November 2023 the three members of the Bibas family had been killed in an Israeli air strike, without providing evidence. Israel has not confirmed this.
The group says it did “everything in [its] power to protect” the hostages and “preserve their lives”.
It says Israel’s “brutal and continuous bombardment prevented them from being able to rescue all” the hostages.
Addressing the families of the hostages directly, Hamas says it would have preferred to have returned them alive.
“You were a victim of a leadership that does not care about its children,” it adds.
Eff Hamas and its supporters. Let the finding out commence.
Israeli president: ‘The hearts of an entire nation lie in tatters’
Isaac Herzog has released a statement after Israel received the bodies of four hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
In a post on X, he says:
“Agony. Pain. There are no words. Our hearts - the hearts of an entire nation - lie in tatters.
“On behalf of the state of Israel, I bow my head and ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness for not protecting you on that terrible day. Forgiveness for not bringing you home safely.
“May their memory be a blessing.”
Except releasing them immediately, or not taking them at all. This is an act of murder IMHO.
If you hadn’t attacked Israel, you would not have been bombed.
Hamas perpetrated this evil.

Hamas and some Gaza people took each hostage without concern for life
Hamas and Gazans involved alone are to blame for the deaths of any hostage AND ALL Gazanas who died from resulting war. No events after those facts really carry the weight that captors intended harm to all they encountered Oct 7, and did so.
That poor baby never took a breath in freedom. The mother was apparently pregnant while in captivity. There will be plenty of mill stones for them all. “Vengeance is mine” said the Lord. Amen and amen!

I have read somewhere that Islam has a 1500 year life expectancy. Maybe no one would believe their nonsense that long after the founding of the religion.
While 1500 years put the expiry date of Islam in the early 2100’s, when some products are left out in the hot sun, their “best before” dates become an overestimate.
Hamas needs to be wiped off the face of the earth
The current exchange rate is one Jewish hostage for the release of 100 Palestinian terrorists. I think that if Israel announced that for every Jewish person killed that Israel will kill 1000 Palestinians the situation through attrition would quickly resolve.
