Maybe he was crying because he knows he will be punished now for whatever he has done to rob his country of freedom and of treasure.

I’m beginning to understand why they have tried to wipe out every reference to Hitler in Germany...

They didn’t want the world to know he never died for them.

He is an example of weak, socialist Europe.

Europe is doomed, and they did it to themselves.

After the speech of Vice President Vance on Friday we have to fear that our common value base is not that common any more.

Sadly, that looks to be true. When Vance spoke about free speech only about 1 in 10 of the Europeans applauded.

He wants a one world government based upon totalitarian principals principles.

I once had a very totalitarian principal: Sister Marie DeSalle. She looked like an unfriendly Ernest Borgnine, and had a demeanor to match!

The only countries in Europe that even act like they are friends to the USA are Italy and Poland. The rest can go and F themselves!

Europeans are steadily losing the freedoms guaranteed in a democracies. Speech and thought policing has become a real thing. Glenn Beck described it well this morning. It looks like the frog in heating water analogy. Fascism is around the corner. Hitler lies in his grave with a smile on his face.

Heusgen’s speech was a classic of the long-20th-century German trueism that “there is no alternative”, as Heusgen insisted the only option was to ignore Trump, double down, and keep going. Heusgen, once Chancellor Angela Merkel’s foreign and security policy advisor ...

Germany is deindustrializing and depopulating, voluntarily. Ninety-eight per cent of Germany's problems are self-inflicted. If Herr Heusgen is incapable of seeing that, well, that's misfortune to the rest of Germans... who should throw him and his like out of power.

I watched a video clip of VDH discussing the deindustrialization of Germany. After the end of WW2, one faction of the US government wanted to do it, but better heads prevailed. Now the Germans are doing all by themselves 80 years later.

The Morgenthau Proposal for the postwar Germany. Even we the victors deemed it too harsh. And now Germany has voluntarily done it to itself.

The Soviets literally moved factories from their part of Germany to the Soviet Union.

Every EU country parrots that practice : “Oooh, look at Germany. They HAD to go after (idiots) denying what the NAzis did. OOOH. WE’d be immoral if we did not do the same.

While I appreciate your observation, I think it is a symptom of a cause that is much larger. By abandoning God, Europe left the door open to Marxist ideologues who fomented a religion of their own: anti-God, utopian fantasy. They styled themselves intellectuals (they weren't, really; to be truly intellectual you mustn't traffic in fantasy). They formed collectives (wouldn't you know it?) such as the Frankfurt School. Names like Gramsci and Marcuse come to mind.

Orwell moved among them for a time and familiarized himself with their dreams, schemes and grand designs. Thus Orwell was able to write the prescient 1984 masterpiece, accurately predicting what we are now seeing in Europe, which is almost entirely given over to intolerance of free speech.

What I'm saying (in too many words, I fear) is that Europe is now almost completely saturated with the kind of fantasy-thought Mr. Orwell foresaw. Knee-jerk antipathy for Holocaust denial is a subset of that, I think.

“Top” German diplomat Christoph Heusgen is simply pathetic - just another Leftists who begs to lick the boot that stomps him.

It is clear that our rules-based international order is under pressure. It is my strong belief that this more multipolar world needs to be based on a single set of norms and principles...

"Ein Reich" in other words. Oddly, the Communists and the Muslim fundamentalists think the same thing. So does every authoritarian ever spawned, and they all intend the mores to be theirs.
