WASHINGTON — The Republican-controlled House Budget Committee voted along party lines to advance a massive budget blueprint to slash taxes and spending by trillions of dollars.
The vote of 21-16 after a marathon daylong session sends the budget resolution to the full House, where Republicans must unify their paper-thin majority to approve it, and instructs committees to craft a massive package to pass President Donald Trump’s agenda on immigration, taxes and more.

Is the GOP actually going to do a real, true, constitutional budget? The kind of budget that is Congress's primary job?
Or is this thing just one of those 3 month stop gap reconciliation or emergency "funding" agreements that gets called a budget but it's not actually a budget?
Wasn't the last time Congress did an actual true budget like in 2007?
There wouldn’t be a “paper thin” margin if Rs had waited until AFTER CA finished voting...720 plus hours after the electtion date.
Not 3 or 4 hours into the next morning...not 24 hours.
720 plus.
3 Rs that were leading miraculously lost...all 3.
Laws need to be made while we have the house...I hope we have it longer..but let’s do it now.
slash spending by trillions of dollars Yay, yay, yay and more YAY!!
Will the Rs have the needed Big Bõlz and unity to pass this?
Yeah, I see the headline. Sounds too good to be true.
I read the article, too. Sounds like more Congressional nonsense that will get bent, spun, twisted and delayed until everybody agrees to kick the can down the road one more time.
Maybe we have a new day. I’ll be watching with a very limited about of optimism. There is some champagne in my fridge for the day we see budget control or even conservative budget consensus. I don’t expect to be drinking it this year.
Remove taxes on Sosha Security. It’s a start.
Last’true’budget was 2005.
20 years of programs not being reviewed

Is this the one Hakeem the Bell Ringer said that no Democrats are going to vote for?
With all of the waste and fraud being laid out in the open for Americans to SEE these tax cuts are not near enough!! Spending cuts are going to be DEMANDED by the public Elon has the American people out in force with pitchforks!! If anyone has noticed the Dems are failing miserably at getting people into the streets, should show everyone that ALL of these fake protests were funded by USAID NOT grassroots Americans!!!
“Yeah, I see the headline. Sounds too good to be true.”

Usually that means it is. I’ve learned to largely ignore the endless streams of empty Republican rhetoric. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
It’s all fun and games until it gets to the Senate.
“Laws need to be made while we have the house.”
Exactly right!
Any worthy bills submitted?
“Wasn’t the last time Congress did an actual true budget like in 2007?”
From the research I’ve done, agencies submit proposed budgets every year.
They just have to be reviewed and modified. Items have to be gone over item by item. Do we need to spend $10 million a year for something that can be done by one person?
And if the dims don’t go along, let them shut down the government and we’ll save even more.
Always fall on the side of Republicans doing nothing. I find it hard to believe that you’ll put no tax on tips, social security in a bill that extends the tax cuts and cuts usaid and all the other trash DOGE is finding and not one Democrat is even to work with that as a starting point.
Most of the nasty pork is done in the House/Senate conference committees in the wee hours of the morning.

Not this time around. This is a different era. Not one Republican is going to go against this agenda and if they do it will be for more cuts.
Yes, we have seen it before, many times. But 47 is different than 45, with different leaders and a mandate which 77 million Americans voted for.

“Road House!”
It looks to me like they are merely extending the current tax cuts that are set to expire. So the “cuts” mean merely that they are not increasing taxes.
Based on posts at the Twitter/X link below, it looks like the vote was on Thursday, February 13.
Tax “cuts” don’t equal spending.
The GOP can be as dumb as Dems.
And they are rate changes.
