President Trump said after meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday that India will increase its purchases of American oil and military hardware, culminating in India’s purchase of the advanced F-35 fighter jet.
“We’ll be increasing military sales to India by many billions of dollars. We’re also paving the way to ultimately provide India with the F-35 stealth fighters,” Trump said at a joint press conference with Modi.
Trump also said the U.S. will become “a leading supplier of oil and gas to India” under a new agreement that will help reduce America’s trade deficit with India. The president said he hoped the U.S. would eventually become India’s top supplier, a position currently held by Russia.

India is going to be a key ally against China.
Anyone using the term “fossil fuels” is a retarded liberal.
Anyone using the term “fossil fuels” is a retarded liberal.
Retarded Liberal is redundant.
Well, liberals are retarded but this goes beyond even that retardation. :)

...Just recently, the Indian government approved the manufacture of their Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft or AMCA. This twin engine jet is intended to be India’s fifth generation stealth fighter. The Indian Air Force eventually intends to equip the plane with an engine capable of supersonic cruise capability and thrust vector control in cooperation with a foreign partner...
What is in it for India?
India operates the S-400 missile system. Now way they’re getting F-35s. See Turkey.
They will have to solve the S-400 problem before they get the hanger queen F-35s.
Trump wants to balance our import/export trade. Pretty simple...
Doesn’t India have some advanced Russian SAM systems. The stated reason that Turkey was denied their F-35’s was because they agreed to buy (If I recall correctly) the S-400 system. The problem was that the Turks could “paint” the F-35 with their Russian radars and pass the data onto their buddies in Moscow — and maybe give them a leg-up on tuning their radars.
I would think that India, being a dedicated user of Russian military hardware, would have similar radars.
Elon Musk was talking outside his expertise. Sadly, so do a lot of Freepers. The end product is NOT bad, despite the well known crash headlines other jets have had oddball crashes and there are around 1000+ F-35s made through out world.
Just because Lockheed Martin makes a good product doesn’t mean we pay more than we should. I believe the founder of Avalon said big military contractors draw things out to make us pay more. Combined with they are naturally expensive, undertaking it is feasible we are paying double digit percentage than we should.
How is it supposed to looks like? Russia has several classes of brand new passenger aircraft in the final stage of testing. Given how Boeing’s lobby destroyed the Russian industry and how big a trouble Western aircraft have become since 2022 they didn’t revive it to return to Boeing. Not going to happen.
Regarding energy are Russians supposed to buy from America or vice versa? Both are netto exporters at this point.
Psssst....He makes rocket ships...
Rocket engineering is different than overcoming a very small radar cross section to get a missile lock and tactics of fighter jets vs. drones. I don’t want to disparage Musk a lot, I like him. However, I don’t even think he is a rocket scientist though he might have picked up on some of it. He is a fantastic investor and business manager/leader. He knew there was a market for rockets, invested in it, and found incredible rocket scientists to work for him.
Until they are proven to be political hacks and/or corrupt (they might be just yet!), I trust our generals tactics and decisions on what weapons we need.
We’re unloading F-35s on India?
Modi is surely doing more than his fair share here!
if everyone equalizes their trade....then all tariffs can be removed on BOTH sides....and prices should go down.
And by the way...he is a Rocket Scientist. Read his bios...
