Mexico and other Latin American states fall into line behind Trump, nobody wanting to be the next Petro --Update: Even Maduro

n Latin America, word is out.

Suddenly we are seeing a lot of them willingly cooperate with President Trump on the acceptance of repatriation flights for their own nationals in the U.S. illegally.

The reason looks pretty obvious: Nobody wants to be the next Petro.

President Trump's thrashing of far-left Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, who initially refused to take repatriation flights he had agreed to earlier, hollering like the pope about 'dignity,' before being forced to quickly reverse course and sing soprano, seems to have sent a message to the rest of Latin America's alien-exporting states, and now they're falling into line with Trump's agenda

Did they really think we were going to keep their prisoners and kooks and losers?

Yes, and long term, a more prosperous and thriving Latin-America will be the key to reducing incentive to flee native countries for other lands. I keep thinking a transformation of Cuba to a thriving and wealthy capitalist nation would serve also as a shining example and blueprint to other nations South of it.

The bottom line is that some many of these Latin American countries are economic and social basketcases.

They can’t take care of their own affairs and their own people. In short, the United States has been a safety valve of sorts where these countries send their people here to avoid the inevitable social unrest that could result from the lack of care they show for their citizens.

Who here thinks Mexico wouldn’t have underwent a really ugly revolution and civil war if so many of their citizens had stayed?

Because all the other Caribbean island nations are the thriving. Truth is they don’t have much to sell or labor.

“IF they didn’t want them why would we?” applies.

Who here thinks Mexico would still have a cartel and narco problem if USA wasn’t their neighbor providing an endless market for drugs and money.

On one hand we complain about the violence in Mexico and conditions that make their citizens flee, and on the other hand the USA creates that environment.

There are really dysfunctional government policies in certain Central American countries.

When you vacation there, you see and hear about them because they try to explain why things are, as they are.

By the way, all of our illegals go back and think they are kings, because they’ve earned so much more than locals could and they brought up their English speaking ability.

Imagine, though, a former illegal, now back in Mexico, being your Chase banking account person. Remember, background checks are poor outside of the US. Heck, school ranking or validation is really hard to do right, outside of the US.

The solution to illegal immigration is to Make Latin America Great!”

“Who here thinks Mexico would still have a cartel and narco problem if USA wasn’t their neighbor providing an endless market for drugs and money.”

No disagreement from me. People in the US feed the demand for illegal narcotics.

Having said that, there are other factors that come into play that cause the conditions we see in Latin America. Those factors are not necessarily due to us.

The one things these despots understand is POWER. They just got shown that Trump wasn’t playing around, and they respect it. They might stand up on something else, but THIS fight isn’t worth it.

Colombia and Peru are not US neighbors, yet they have narco and cartel problems.
