WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden has pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, using the extraordinary powers of his office in his final hours to guard against potential “revenge” by the incoming Trump administration.
The decision by Biden comes after Donald Trump warned of an enemies list filled with those who have crossed him politically or sought to hold him accountable for his attempt to overturn his 2020 election loss and his role in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump has selected Cabinet nominees who backed his election lies and who have pledged to punish those involved in efforts to investigate him.
“The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense,” Biden said in a statement. “Our nation owes these public servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment to our country.”

What do they need pardons for? Did they commit a crime?
Blanket immunity pardons were never the intent.
I thought they both said they haven’t done anything wrong?! Why pardon? And can Trump reverse this?
I hope Trump was expecting this and has a game plan for challenging it.
He has to mention this in his inaugural speech.
Preemptive pardons is wild. I wonder if they are constitutional? Joe DeGenova was just on WMAL radio.. says they are...
Only the guilty need a pardon.
There needs to be civil suits brought against him by the thousands. Bankrupt him.
Red state DAs and AGs…you know what to do…
Good God...the stench that The Big Guy has left in the Oval Office could gag a maggot.
I can’t say what I want to say.

President Biden issues pre-emptive pardons.
“That is why I am exercising my authority under the Constitution to pardon General Mark A. Milley, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the Members of Congress and staff who served on the Select Committee, and the U.S. Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee. The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense. Our nation owes these public servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment to our country.”

Ford pardoned Nixon...and I don’t recall any questions about Constitutionality.
I hope Trump was expecting this and has a game plan for challenging it.

From what I remember, Ford preemptively pardoned Nixon.

There was a lot of complaint over the Nixon pardon but I don’t recall it being challenged on constitutional grounds so you’re right, that does stand as a sort of precedent.
They can all still be investigated. We can still learn the truth. And, when we know the truth, Biden and his pardons will look much, much worse. History will take note.
“I hope Trump was expecting this and has a game plan for challenging it.”
I don’t think he can challenge those pardons as they stand, but ...
He could have governors lined up to get Fauci on state charges. Every red state should make his life holy hell until the day he dies.
Re Milley, maybe some obscure military loophole?
There is no challenge to it.
There are, however, creative work arounds.
Strip each one of pensions, security clearances, forbid entry or contracting with federal government, forbid entry into federal buildings, etc. lots of civil penalties and fines. They can be broken.
